I want to go out and see my friends this weekend but sadly last night I stumbled and hit a chair so have grazes on my nose. At hospital they put a plaster on it to help the healing.

When I mentioned at hospital to my parents I wanted to go out and see my friends they strictly warned me against it saying it’s a very bad idea and people will think I have been in a fight if they see a plaster and graze on my nose.

Do you think my parents are right or not? I have to wear the plaster on my nose untill Sunday.

What does it matter if people think you've been in a fight?

That seems very much like a them problem for jumping to conclusions, I fail to see how it's a you problem.

I wouldn't consider an injury of that sort to leave one housebound, if one chooses to not leave the house out of shame or fear of judgments that's different from being too badly injured to leave the home.

If people assume it was a fight, tell them when you're healed up you're gonna find the guy who did it and break all four of their legs.

Just a reminder: under international law, an occupying power has no right of self-defense, and those who are occupied have the right and duty to liberate themselves by any means possible.

Did people assume he got in a fight?
Did people assume he was a pirate?

Or did people mostly just mind their own business?
