Not that I'm complaining, just curious. My husband has been overweight sense puberty, but recently that's been changing. He's 23 but seems to be hitting a growth spurt, slimming down while gaining muscle. In just a few weeks his shirts have gone from very loose to kinda tight in the shoulders, and his chest is even a bit broader, but it's muscle not fat. His stomach, which he tried for years to get rid of is even shinking! ((He had the 'apple' shape, so his legs and arms were very fit, his midsection, not so much))

What's puzzling us is he's made no changing that would cause this... He's eating the same, exercising the same, and sleeping actually a little less than normal. Is he just reacting to the prospect of fatherhood or what? Has this happened to anyone else?

It happens to all men(and presumably women) at some point or another. Its silly to say we are done growing at age 'X'.

Its well established when bones stop lengthening, though it varies from one person to the next. What isnt so clear is muscular development.

Our noses and ears, for example, will grow our whole lives.

We never stop.

You never know. I didn't grow facial hair until I was in my late twenties, and I'm more muscular now than I was when I was his age. People continue to grow, on average, until they're about 25. If he's otherwise normal and healthy, I'd simply enjoy this (literally) new development. :)

its very possible. I have seen many guys of whom i have gone to high school, that turn into giants after a few years of college. There is a physical change from youth to man. Even muscular structure gradually changes to a more defined, mature shape. He's not on the juice is he?

He's not on any drugs or steroids. He's just getting frustrated because his shirts actually fit. ((He says they're too small))
