So far all I did this weekend was go on here, eat, sleep, shower, drink water, take my braincandy, try to sleep and not be able to, make macaroni and cheese for my mother, sort my clothes, put some clothes I didn't want downstairs for others to take, take some clothes I found downstairs, read my horoscope (I have to STOP doing that!), stim, and that's about it.

I "live up" my weekends. I make the most of them. Today, I drove to the lake, walked 6 miles alongside it, and spotted 40+ monk parakeets that someone had released into the wild! Considering they're worth $200 apiece, and I still owe a lot of money to my dentist for cavaty fillings, I really kinda wished I could catch and sell some. But, not knowing if that's illegal, I didn't give that idea much consideration. They were cute birds -- and large (monk parakeets are the largest), almost as big as my African Grey Parrot, Chloe.
But I digress...
As an Aspie, I have to "work hard at having fun" -- but I usually get there. Occasionally, I'll be feeling like crap on a weekend, and stay home pretty much the whole time.

I stay home a lot on the weekends when I'm off work.
That is the time when I start feeling restless though, like I should be out doing something, because that is how my weekends used to be.
And I guess when I'm off during the week it feels like everyone else is working so it's my time.
But on the weekends I have these thoughts that maybe I am missing out on something.
It's silly really.
I also realize that I only feel that way when I am in the city.
Right now I am at my parents' house, in the middle of nowhere so I don't really feel like I am missing anything.

I used to like to go out a little. Then I married an aspie. End of that.
We go out very occasionally. The less I socialize, the harder it gets. And the less I desire it. With two ASD kids now, it isn't exactly super easy to find a sitter, so this complicates matters further.
Plus, where do you go? I can't stand cigarette smoke, and despite our state being smoke-free, bars don't follow that. Plus bars are loud and annoying, you can't really have a conversation...and can you see two aspies dancing in front of people?
I'm content with my Netflix, enjoyed in our very nice remodeled bedroom with the big anniversary present we got ourselves (new TV!) on the weekends.
Speaking of which...I'm about to do that now...

"Unless suffering is the direct and immediate object of life, our existence must entirely fail of its aim. It is absurd to look upon the enormous amount of pain that abounds everywhere in the world, and originates in needs and necessities inseparable from life itself, as serving no purpose at all and the result of mere chance. Each separate misfortune, as it comes, seems, no doubt, to be something exceptional; but misfortune in general is the rule."
I stay home and clean, make bracelets, and watch Court TV... lol. That is all I really do aside from playing with the kiddos and all.
I do this during the evenings too, lol-if I have a babysitter (which is extremely rare), people will ask what I'm doing... the answer is always the same-the same things I always do, except I'll be able to concentrate more on them.
