It's supposed to be on here on Sunday but I'd be working. I get off at 11 but I have to take the bus home so I'd be missing lot of the show.

Yeah, really... It airs for us from 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM. What's up with that? Why can't it be earlier in the evening? Do they think all us Aspies are nightowls or something? XD

Well, I DID seem to adapt unusually well to the nocturnal life when I had to go to bed at 7 am and wake at 4 pm.

Lucky... I know I may sound crazy for that but that sounds so good right now. I sleep much better during the day than I do at night... It's weird.

No, but it is coming on in my neck of the woods on Friday and Saturday. So I'll check it out.
Thanks.

My concern now is still as to whether/when it will be shown. Checked the onscreen cable guide & it says tonight it won't be on in primetime but will be on at like 3 a.m. or so. Of course, the schedule is fallible, so I'll just have to wait & see, watching for it in hopes it airs. It claims that instead of this, a Frontline episode will be on. Hmmmm.

In other threads on this topic I wrote:

Yes, I saw ad for this at end of previous episode of Independent Lens-got all excited to find out this was going to be aired next time. Looked it up to get date & time (Tues. Jan. 8th at 10 p.m.-may be aired again overnight, a few hours later-depends on your local affiliate), then made note to remind myself.
Had heard of the film showing at independent venues in my area over the past year, but none close enough for me to attend. I'm agoraphobic-so am pleased I can now catch on tv, from comfort of my own home. Haven't seen it, hope it's good.

Never heard of that site/blog, but I checked it out. Had already been to PBS website for the film, so it was enjoyable to find more info. on it. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow night-thanks for putting this link here. Hoping coverage of NH primary doesn't interfere with the program (since some PBS affiliates had post-election update at 11 p.m. after the Iowa vote).

Here it won't be shown until the 13th. I already have a reminder set for 11 pm.

btw, I live in Iowa for anyone wondering.

I just realized I can ask my boyfriend to record the show for me at 11pm. He would just have to stay up to do it and then go to sleep or he can set his alarm for 11 and it will wake him up at that time and he can hit record on the VCR and go back to sleep.

I just finished watching it.....(sigh)...yet another thing to make me kinda sorta doubt my Aspie-ness.....just because I am not exactly like that....and somewhat more flexible....I am somewhat babied by my parents, but i do live on my own..i do have relationships...I do (usually understand boundaries at work..when I have jobs)......I did not have genius skills as a kid...ect...etc....I am not so pattern...number...system...oriented.....and so on.....

....up to the very end then he was singing "Poor wandering one" from Pirates of Penzance...which was one of my major interests when I was a small child....then I was up on my toes in front of the tv....knocking my fists together and singing along....and my brain is still buzzing from that.....ok...it stopped....

Did anyone see the Frontline before the Independant Lense?

"The Medicated Child"

That was really interesting about all those kids getting overmedicated for bi-polar disorder...scary....

Schedules in other places most likely vary....

I watched it tonight. I didn't care for the introduction very much, but the film itself is good. Nicky is easy to like. His social problems are pretty pronounced. I get the impression that his family tries really hard to help him learn to integrate with other people in a variety of settings. They deserve an A for effort. The ending is hopeful as he moves to his own apartment, joins a support group and meets a potential girlfriend. Kudos to his family for the support and caring they show him.

Same here. I guess the spectrum idea applies to each symptom. The way Nicky described his problems understanding people was pretty classic, though.

The way I see it, there has to be an AS spectrum too...

Nicky is more affected than I am, but we are similar in many ways.
