I don't like the stuff at all, but it's the noise that gets me the worst. I can't take anything out of packaging if it's in polystyrene because of that sound (ugh). I can try covering my ears but the sound still hurts my teeth. Also chalk on blackboard and scraping cuttlery noises hurt my teeth. Interesting thread.

Same for me, I mainly can't stand the sound. Even the tiniest touch to it, and it makes me feel almost sick. I have to be in a different room when polystyrene packaging is taken out of a box.

not sure which plastic it is..;)

Only thing that gets me like that is 2 pieces of styrofoam rubbing (more like squealing) together..;)

The sound is what gets to me. Is there anything where the use of it is banned because it sounds bad?

It's marked with a number 6 for recycling purposes. I've noticed that CD jewel cases are marked with number 6.
