Do you think I might be bipolar?
Yeah, I think you should get a diagnosis on that. For me, it's hard finding a doctor but I've gotten help with it. Being Bipolar, that is if you have it, can be a devastating condition. I knew one gal that had it so bad. I myself have tried taken my life a couple of times but I'm through with it. With her, I don't think she could control her thoughts of suicide or anger. It was pretty bad, she also stopped taking her medication all together and was worse. Her mom did I think a horrible thing by putting her into a group home. Tried to contact her 2 months ago but they said she's left. Her mom is upset about it now and has had police involved. We now don't know where she is. Sorry if I typed too much about her case her name was Claire. What you said reminded me of some things she went through. I hope to god she hasn't put herself in harms way but live and learn. So yeah, really take this serious and be upfront about it. Also, educate yourself about it and see if you fit a lot of the criteria. Hope everything goes well with you.

Advice?
I took Celexa perscribed by a crisis center and ran out of my several dozen samples and wandered around sponging perscriptions from sliding scale clinics, going to pharmacies that would sell me a weeks worth at a time from an old expired perscription until I finally went off of Celexa cold turkey.
coming off of an anti depressent by just stopping becomes screamingly insane inless under a doctor's care.
been there, done that.
my advice? find your Doctors phone number.

It can take medicene about 4 weeks to start working sometimes.
And bipolar is when one day, it's not just slighty hyper to wanting to die, one day you're so powerful, self-confident, ready to rule the world, thinking you can do anything and cleaning the house spotless, to so depressed you can't get out of bed.
I think your case is a little different. Not a bad thing, though.

Okay, I just have depression then. Not that it makes much of a difference to me.

The doctor's last name is usually printed somewhere on the prescription bottle, google that along with the city his main office is in, plus "psychiatrist" if you need to, and there's a good chance it'll be on the web.
edit: his phone #, that is

Then it's likely a failure, and if you or your parents could get you into the doctor it'd help you a great deal.
I just got off anti-depressants that made me ALOT worse.

it also takes several months for drugs to work... which is terrible for prescribing and finding correct balance for a depressed person. i'm sorry you're feeling bad, but you should go tell your doctor asap that these are working for you...
and there are different kinds of bipolar, including milder forms... i'm not suggesting you go in trying to dx yourself as this... but it is a possibility. a key factr is: have you always been like this?
however, when i get depressed, i just tend to be more prone to meltdowns... which seem to occur for no rhyme or reason... i can have several a day.
i just saw this thread and i want to apologize for any perceived war going on.
take care of yourself... i'm not exactly in the happiest place in the world, myself... but i know things will change.

I have to say that I haven't been on my best behavior either, and I am sorry. I just don't like hearing any tone of passive aggressive (or whatever you were trying to communicate in Age's board) whatsoever when I'm in a extremely depressed mood already. I have a long fuse that blows up at the worse times, so I am sorry for some of the stuff I said (I still stand by the fact that I wasn't using my disorder as an excuse, just as an explaination)
It could be cyclothymia... I think I have cyclothymia. I'm so happy and glad to be here and glad to be away from obligations and excited about starting a business/charity and Aspie houses all over the world and how I'm with two wonderful great friends and one or two more are coming. And then suddenly I'm worried and nervous and angry and resentful and regretful and thinking I'm going to be kicked out on the street and how my parents will come back to haunt me for treating them like s**t and how my social anxiety and depression will jsut get worse and worse and I won't be able to function any more and nobody will want to be around me because I'm no fun and complain too much and don't do anything right, and s**t like that.

i hope your day went well..... it's at least sunny here** and i had an ok day at work (yay! working on springbreak sucks)
i haven't tried paxil, but know my mom is on it for social anxiety ect... she had to switch around and play with dosages and all that stuff. i'm not sure how long you've been on it, but it may just need more time to take effect...
edit:** also, a lot of mood disorder things can be weather related... i don't know where you live, but i definitely noticed lots of changes in my mood during the winter when i lived in the northwest and it was dark and rainy most of the day

Also, bipolar is relatively easy to diagnose.
So to answer your question: no I don't think you are bipolar, else your doctor is an idiot.
