Is there a place on here for parents with AS/autism to talk? It doesn't seem like there are many resources out there (books, net, etc.) for autistic parents.

The parents discussion is for both nt's and ASD parents. I am AS, my partner is NT and we have one son of each.

It has definately helped me relate better to both of them...reading what's on here.

Oh, okay. Thanks. I thought it was just for parents who have kids with autism. My little guy is only 4 months old, so obviously I would have no idea if he did or not.

I have two NT daughters with, as a good friend worded it, wildly overdeveloped vocabularies. :D (she meant that in a good way)

It's challenging to be an Aspie with kids, and I'm sure having me as a Mom is challenging for them; they say it hasn't really been bad, more like unusual and interesting, compared to their friends' lives.

It will be interesting for you to watch as your little one develops!

Aspie, mom of Aspie, daughter of ASD father. No, there are all varieties of people here, just as in "real" live. Aspies parents, Aspie kids, Aspie Relatives, NTs with each, etc...

Aspie mother, NT children topic

I am the Aspie mother of three NT children. The first has a different NT father than the younger tow. I sometimes have a hard time with my younger NT teens because they are cons.cious of me being different and are self conscious in front of their friends, all NT.

Asparenting Topic

This topic should have been more popular now. Butthe same thing happened when I had a similar topic in the Parents Discussion. Most of the vocal stuff comes from the NT parents who are parenting Aspergers and other Autistic children.

Sometimes it is difficult to talk about. :(

If it's resources you're looking for, Liane Holliday Willey (famous Aspie) has said she has got herself some books that have helped her with her parenting. I don't know what books they were, but you could email her and ask. Her website is at http://www.aspie.com.
