Driving: Rally, NFS Underground and later (all in manual transmission)
Third Person: GTA series, and Max Payne. (Finally got back into the game since I got the patch which stopped it from crashing)

I always played video games but I wouldn't call myself a real gamer since I played almost exclusively japanese RPG's and a few other japanese series in other genres, like Castlevania and Mega Man.

I have a very hard time feeling enthusiastic about new games and only play one or two a year.

I don't enjoy and I don't play racing, shooting, action etc. I played a few beat'em up games, like Street Fighter and Soul Calibur but those games are too shallow for me in general, and they are completely pointless to play in single player mode, in my oppinion.

Suikoden 2 is my favorite game ever. If you haven't played it, get it somehow, and overlook the seemingly cliché randomness of the first five-six hours. I still never played a game which left me so satisfied. It's not an epic, world changing story unlike for example Square-Enix/old Squaresoft games, but rather a political storyline with soap operatic character interaction and dialogue between an endless cast of RPG and fantasy archetypes.

I don't play western produced games, I don't play PC games, I don't play anything like that.

Firstly, Resident Evil 4 really doesn't count as a survival horror, kay?

Secondly

I'll deviate from the standard format a bit, but it's still rather close.
JRPG: Final Fantasy IX. (The difficulty jumped on the third disc, though, which stopped me from beating it.)
Action/Adventure: Mystical Ninja on the N64.
FPS: If The Orange Box counts, put it here. If not, just put Half-Life 2, Shogo, or Doom, dealer's choice.
Music: Rock Band 2.
Sports: Tony Hawk series
RTS: Total War or Red Alert series(s, or however you want to pluralize it)
Danmaku (bullet hell): Triggerheart Exelica (cuteness plus throwing enemies plus bullet hell equals AWESOME.)
Hard-to-classify: Trauma Center series.

...I MIGHT think of more later.

ACTION/ADVENTURE: Ocarina of Time
STEALTH: Stealth?! Stealth? I don't need any stinking stealth! Unless it is evading IRS Zombies, and then blowing them up. Then I might play.
SURVIVIAL HORROR: Super Ghosts 'n Goblins*, Contra****, Graduis***, Tetris**. (Again, what counts? I could put X-COM here, too.)
BEAT 'EM UP: Not my type of game. (Nope. AI cheats well to much.)
FIGHTING: Super Smash Bros Brawl (When I get it.)
PLATFORM: Super Mario, Megaman, Metroid, Bubble Bobble, Act Raiser, and many, many classics. Well too many to list.
SHOOTER: ...Star Fox? Metroid? What counts as a shooter, Duck hunt?
SIMULATOR: SimCity 4 and anything before. (Plus Railroad Tycoon, and company.)
ROLE-PLAYING: Pokémon, The Mother Series, Pokémon, Pokémon, and not Final Fantasy. (Well, not after Six.)
MUSIC: What is with this category, and a better question, why is it so popular?
PARTY: Wario Ware/ Mario Party, Bomberman.
PUZZLE: Tetris, Bomberman, Marble Madness (What counts as a puzzle?)
Sports: Until EA lets up the iron grip, Bah. And even before or after that, Bah!
Racing: Mario Kart. And Mario Kart.
*Something to that effect. Does it even count?
**AHHH! I AM RUNNING OUT OF ROOM! NO! SO CLOSE TO THE HIGH SCORE!
***From what I have seen and heard, some of those levels get pretty creepy.
****You try to survive on a single hit. Simply Horrific.

You must not like explosions or multiplayer where you kill your friends' characters, LOL. Neither do I. Here is my list:

RPG: Dragon Quest VI and Dragon Quest IX (any Dragon Quest, plus Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX).

ADVENTURE: Marvel Ultimate Alliance, A Link to the Past, Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII, Rocket Slime

PLATFORM: Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA), Ninja Gaiden 2

MONSTER RAISING: Dragon Quest Monsters 2

BEAT'EM UP: Turtles in Time, X-Men, Guilty Gear

FIGHTING: King of Fighters series, Rival Schools, Marvel vs. Capcom

"DRAMATIC PROGRESSIVE ACTION": Dissidia Final Fantasy

RHYTHM: High School Musical - Work This Out

MUSIC: SingStar, High School Musical - Sing It

BOARD: Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Special

STORY (I don't know what the genre is called exactly, I think the package said "adobencha~" (adventure), LOL): Secret of Evangelion Portable

MINI-GAMES: Chocobo Tales, Petit Eva - Evangelion@Game

MYSTERY DUNGEON: Young Yangus and the Mystery Dungeon

I don't know if the categories are correct, but I tried my best.

Growing up, I played adventure games like King's Quest. And sometimes fighting games. Fantasy games too. And shooters. But these days I LOVE RPGs. My fave is Fallout 3.
