Pets should not be permitted in urban areas. Period. Between dog attacks, pet scat on sidewalks and other people's property, and noisy dogs, it is not a good combination with high density living. Plus it's just plain f*****g unhygienic.

I get mildy annoyed with the "poo" on the sidewalk thing...
especially one time when I went to the mailbox in my bare feet and stepped in some poo....(OMG that squishy....stuff between my toes)...

another time some random dog had got into our backyard and left a huge gift... I had just purchased a brand-new pair of running shoes for my daughter....she stepped in the poo and then refused to ever wear the shoes again...
 and crying....but mostly

update: last night the dog next door was quiet.....and as of this second he is still quiet....dare I hope that they read the article from the barking dogs website???

That reminds me of the Jim Carrey movie Me, Myself and Irene where he takes a dump on his neighbour's lawn because their pet was continually crapping in his yard.

I play harmonica when the neighbor's dog barks too much. It puts the dog to sleep.

Ive got a little terrier dog that barks incessantly next door. Sometimes I feel like putting a fire cracker up its arss.

Then my other next door neighbour has this really big dog. Crossed with German Shepherd and Rottie (I think)
I hate it and you shouldnt have big dogs in units anyway.
Every time I walk past it, it barks so loud.
Once I threw cooked bones over the fence . Hoping it would choke on it and die.

what kind of bones?

beef, chicken, lamb, rabbit, pork, ostrich, monkey, alligator or sasquatch?

or none of the above?

was the fence high or low. Was it metal or wood or wrought-iron?

Was it difficult to throw the bones...were they heavy, did you have to put a lot of physical effort or was it easy because the bones were light and the fence was low?

Did the neighbours see you? Did you have to run? or was it at night?

Cooked bones don't cause choking. The cooking causes the bones to splinter when they are chewed, and the sharp bone shards may puncture the animal's stomach and intestines, with excruciating results.

Just so ya know. :(

If anyone should be punished, it should be the owners, not the animals.

^ The dogs are already suffering emotionally because of their stupid owners - that's why they are barking constantly. It is hard to imagine that torturing them physically will make the situation better.

I am hoping that you are not seriously advocating this type of 'solution', considering how cruel it is. On the other hand, it isn't a great joke, either. Could it be . . . trolling? :x

Well I hate the stupid dog. The owner talks to it all the time like he's in love with it or something and the dog's female. Maybe it would be better off choking to death on a bone.

I am sorry too....
I may have provoked six-lucy with my questions....

I don't want to harm anything or (animal, rock, plant, human, alien etc....)

I just got really curious about bones and fences and I don't know why....sorry..

also....

I did learn something....I also thought that they choked on the bones....(via the throat)...

but....
six-lucy I didn't mean to "trigger you" into the darkness...

let's think of the the dog...not as something we hate...(hate the noise) but not the dog...

let's think of his beautiful face, his beautiful eyes....his wonderful soft glossy coat...his williness to be our companion and not judge us....how much he wants to be with us...and not left alone in a dark empty house with no toys...no stimulation....no way of comforting himself....

I am going to visualize him in all his beauty and use all of the advice and information that the kind people that responded to this post gave me....

maybe I can suggest to one of the neighbourhood kids that they can dog-sit him a couple of times of week...for a "small nominal fee"....
stufff like that...

six-lucy.......sorry if I got you going....I was wrong to do that!...

I feel for you! I have a neighbor who goes away & leaves their poor little dog home alone. He barks & barks. I'm sure it's out of loneliness & neurosis. I don't have a dog anymore & it bothers me for anyone to have a pet but neglects it.

Hugs,

Tomboy

For the last little while I have not heard him bark...I was told about this website about how someone can help barkings dogs.....and/or how the owners may not be aware that the dog is barking since the dog becomes quiet when they are home.
So I copied some suggestions from the website and put a copy of it under the wiper blade on thier car.....(I was too chicken to knock on the door)....anyway I approached it from a non-blaming attitude....just some suggestions...

and....
I have not heard him bark like crazy for a while now (good for me)....and hopefully good for the dog....because I'm sure he was going a little stir-crazy...

here is the website if you are interested. :) barkingdogs.com and (sorry I can't find the name of the person who suggested it....but thankyou to them also! :) )
