I can't get it to play in a maximized window. It'll play just fine in a window but I can't click the maximize button.

Sorry, I was just reminded of that quote... Major Strickland is funny.

well, i'd say the problems with crysis that you can only play it on vista, AKA a glitchy mess of a operating system

Haven't played Crysis, but most FPS, you have to go into the options menu to switch to fullscreen (alt+enter usually doesn't work).

its probably a graphics card issue, refusing to work with a res any bigger than that.
may be issue with the card [is it dedicated or onboard?] or drivers.

Most DOS based games will NOT work with the Full Screen key combo. Vista does NOT like full screen DOS windows nor does Windows 5.2 (64 ed) The alternative as said would be to check for options in the window for full screen, and make sure your graphics card meets the minimum requirements.

It does with Crysis. Crysis is kinda weird like that.
