Threat against FSU 'preps' leads to local police investigation (Tallahassee.com)

Local law enforcement are investigating a threat against Florida State University students written in black marker on a bathroom wall at a Tallahassee gas station, the Circle K on Lake Bradford Road.

The writer of the message warns that he and 10 others plan to open fire on any "preps" or faculty at the library Feb. 1.

"Now listen closely if you go to FSU," the expletive-laden message reads, according to a cell-phone picture taken by a student. "I will kill you. ... The red mist will spray. The bodies will fall."

Tallahassee PD are investigating and say there is 'No known immediate danger' but they are taking the threat seriously. We have spoken to FSU PD about heightened security that day.

Sounds like a student prank to me. Or am I being hopeful?

"Juggla" may be a reference to the jugular vein - a very vulnerable part of a person's neck.

A "Juggalo" may then be inferred as a person that attacks by going for the throat - a quick and bloody death.

Edited in Later: From the above, it may be fair to assume that "Juggla" and "Juggalo" mean "Cutthroat" - a label used to describe a robber that sneaks up behind a victim and then kills the victim with a knife-slash across the throat in order to steal the victim's money and leave no witnesses.

to me it sounds like you're describing a violent coward, which in turn is what most of these 'juggalos' seem to be

there were threats like this at my school here and there but most of the time it was just idiot immature t*ats with nothing better to do between sniffing glue and making other's lives hell. the only problem is ninety nine may be hoaxes but that still leaves one in a hundred that may be true, if they're all dismissed as kids pulling pranks someone may get hurt or even killed.

I was hopin' that those of you with too much time on your hands would search blogs & U-toobs for people talkin' about shootin' up schools in the near future...

Couldn't you just take sick leave instead?

You can do most research on a computer these days. Lots of Journals are helpfully online and books can leave libraries.

Anyway, I don't have a high opinion of Insane Clown Posse or their fans ("juggalos"), but most are all right. Unfortunately as with any media phenomenon that portrays violence you tend to get idiots who take it way too seriously and get the wrong message (or use it to their own ends, as the people responsible for these threats seem to be doing).

Since this kind of thing has happened before and with so much loss of life, I would take any threat like this very seriously. The community can't afford not to. Whoever wrote the graffiti message is obviously mentally unbalanced and very angry. And thanks to US gun laws, he'll have no problem building up a small arsenal for the killing spree. Uncle Sam will practically shove the gun into the kid's hand.

I went to FSU a long time ago. Lake Bradford road looked rather run-down and I'd encounter some creepy-looking people at places alongside it. Also, it's nowhere near the main library. Whoever wrote that obviously had a problem with college students that he should see a psychiatrist about. Also a coward, because he wrote it in the privacy of a restroom in a location at least a mile away. If he really wanted to scare people, he would have printed up flyers and put them up around the campus in the middle of the night. Bizarre graffiti and offensive flyers are nothing unusual on a university campus. Next, please...
