I know that if I click on the links to the ads about the #1 rule to obey for flat abs, it will turn out to be a total scam, and my computer will catch fire or something....but has anyone clicked the link? What is the secret supposed to be?

sorry

I googled "Rachael Ray" "flat abs" & came up with this news story - http://www.newsmax.com/health/Five_Food ... 93437.html

Quote:
The five fab ab foods that will tame your tummy are oils, nuts and seeds, olives, avocado, and dark or semi-sweet chocolate.

I guess the "one rule" is to incorporate these five foods into your diet. (My guess is that it only helps to add these foods in moderation - too much will undoubtedly have the opposite result.)

So the secret of weight loss is to give up all of the foods you like and eat only foods that you find so revolting that you can't stand to eat more than a small portion.

Sounds effective.

why? beacause woman out there ALL want to lose weight and ALL think they have the best way, you do realize that eating to lose weight is dum and not eating is not possible so solution = eat healthy (by eating less:you don't need to clean the plate, we have dishwashers) and exercise (jog or run DO NOT WALK/POWERWALK/OR WALK BACKWARDS, women have 1,000s of diets and exercises that dont work) there are diets of onions and chocolate and lots of other "Alternative Health Diets".

"You too can loose 100 pounds in only six weeks taking our magical berrys from the rainforest and taking this unique cleansing solution guaranteed to blah blah blah" No giggles were had :(

I eat all these things (in moderation)..AND Acai (In smoothees and it is my favorite Emergen-C flavor)....and I exercise regularly and I am still pudgy...esp. in the stomach...

but I was just curious about the ads and afraid to investigate...Acai tastes good, but as far as weight loss goes, it is a fad..just like Hoodia was... :?

Dumb gullibleness.... :?

:? :?

Any advertisement that promises weight loss with "no diet - no exercise" is by definition, a scam (something for nothing, too good to be true.) Hey - I just noticed something - there are currently 3 variations of the same disgusting ad on this page as I'm writing this - and they all have conflicting information!

The only way I know to lose weight & keep it off, is to eat healthy, exercise daily & burn more calories than you take in every day. Diet without exercise eventually catches up with you & your metabolism slows down, so the weight stays on.

I didn't start losing weight until I started exercising every day for about an hour (sometimes more, sometimes less.) Before that, I exercised three days a week & was in a holding pattern - stable weight, but way too much of it.

I got to love the endorphins from the exercise so much, that I really hate to skip a day. Plus, it cuts way back on my stimming & makes me less susceptible to stress-related shutdowns.

One thing that's really helped me lately, is keeping track of everything I eat & every workout. My health insurance website has an online food/exercise log that calculates # of calories consumed, minus # of calories burned. I'm sure there are similar calculators to be found online. It's a bit of work - but I like that kind of thing (an AS bonus - enjoying keeping track of statistics.)

Just find your caloric maintenance number(calories required to maintain weight, use it religiously, and do cardio often. A disciplined diet and workout plan is all you need to lose weight. Unfortunately directly working your abs will not make them flat, it could even make your stomache appear larger. You have to do cardio and chances are if losing fat in your stomach is the hardest, then it may take longer to see any weight loss in that specific area of the body.

You could try to cut as well. Decrease your maintenance calories by 100-200 and do cardio for faster results. Eat clean, healthy foods. Try to stay away from anything too processed. This is what I did to lose 40 lbs in 4-5 months when I was heavily overweight.

I assume to lose weight is eat right and exercise. To get rock hard abs, I assume you would need to work out.
