I have 1 month free on Xbox live right now and I'm debating what I should do when the month ends. I can afford the monthly payments if I were to choose to keep Xbox live, but would it be worth it? I am enjoying it now, but will the feeling ware off?

(This is my first poll thread)(yay)

I did not vote because I do not think its a simple yes/no answer. If you enjoy it enough to spend the money on it, then its worth it. Many forms of entertainment cost money. Its a matter of whether it is worth it to you. Whether or not the "feeling wears off" is largely a matter of what games your playing on it and how much you enjoy them

I think it's kind of silly that you have to pay for something that PC gamers get for free, but I guess that's just me.

I voted yes only because of the Netflix feature.

Umm.... yes, but unless you get a Netlifx box you can't watch movies instantly on your tv without Xbox live. =/

I believe the feature is only in America though.

You can play some of them on PC for free.

Out of those, I believe the original Gears of War and Left 4 Dead are the only ones that are on the PC. However, in order to run them as well as the Xbox, you'd need a beast of a machine, at least compared to my PC. Not to mention, Xbox Live's features such as built in chat, included headset, easy to maintain friends list that spans across games is tough to beat. You don't have to bother setting up a VOIP server or anything.

Steam

I think most people just use Ventrillo for voice chat, though.

And there's some other chat program, kind of like AIM, but you can use it inside of games...Idunno what it's called, my brother uses it.

I just picked up Street Fighter 4 for my PS3. I went with the PS3 version due to the controller being better for fighting games. This is the first game I've tried to play online with the PS3 and the experience is leaving me with a very bad taste in my mouth. When looking for a ranked or player match, with no types of restrictions, I will typically only find between 2 - 4 matches. Really? A game this big and there's only 2 - 4 available matches? I find it hard to believe. Why doesn't it show me all available matches? My friend who only has an Xbox 360 bought it for that system and when he looks for a match, there's many, many more available.

Then, when you do find an available match and select it, the majority of the time, when trying to join, it will come back with a message simply saying, "Unable to Play." WTF does that mean? I know the room/lobby isn't full because sometimes, when trying to join, it'll come back and say it's full. Unable to play? Give me a break. Something else that my friend has never seen on Xbox Live. So, you spend 10 - 15 minutes just refreshing the search until a match is found with a decent signal (almost all matches are shown with the worst possible signal despite the fact I have high speed cable internet) and you can play. You spend more time looking for a match than you actually get to spend playing them.

For fighting games on Xbox Live, I have played Dead or Alive 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Soul Calibur 4, Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, and Super Street Fighter II: Turbo HD Remix and I haven't had this problem with any of those games. Xbox Live just blows PSN away.

We played that this weekend for 360, you're right, 360 pad sucks for fighting games :x Had the same problem with the Dreamcast controller...every time I'd try to do the standard "down-to-forward" they'd end up jumping instead.

Then again, they really demand a six button configuration to enjoy properly. R and L just doesn't cut it.
