OK, so I want the spiffy new version of The Witcher. I purchased it originally for $40 and so I don't want to spend $60 on the upgrade version. The problem is, I lost the CD key and so it won't let me download the upgrade from the website.

So, I went to gamecopyworld.com and I copied ALL the software there, installed it and followed ALL the directions. This has taken me hours and hours for three days. There are supposed to be many ways to circumvent the need for a CD key driven patch. Still, none of them work for me.

I get the intro sequence and then the screen goes black.

HELP!! !

I also have the latest version of direct x and hotfix. I played the original version of the game for a year, so it worked before.

I could just buy another $20 original edition from Amazon and upgrade it, I guess. I just don't want to spend unnecessary money.

I'm obsessed, and it's pissing me off!

Is this just my obsessive behavior? It's been so hard to stop!

Nope. It's a really fun game. I also suggest buying the PC version of Mass Effect. That's another one of those games you can't put down until the end, which, by the way, ranks up there as one of the best sci-fi endings (movie, television, video games, or other wise).

Now I'm REALLY pissed because my Witcher game (that I plan to upgrade) was coming on Monday and Amazon cancelled the order. Too many people had ordered from that retailer. I'm going back to try to buy it again.

Will I ever get to play it?

Doesn't anybody know how to get the no cd-key patch to work?
