Good morning everyone.

I seem to have a major problem with people putting down my interests.

One them happens to be NASCAR and auto racing.

About a year ago someone made a complant about NASCAR and autism speaks. Now you guys have convinced me that autism speaks ins't doing the right thing, but you also used NASCAR as a other negitive example, which really made me upset and made me feel bad.

I don't approve of autism speaks, but I do respect and like NASCAR. due to the fact that I have watched it and grown up with it since i was 5, long before it was in partner with autism speaks, or even before i knew I had autism. I even went to school with a student who was realted to someone who won the Winston cup in 1992, and when i hear wrong planet putting down NASCAR because of autism speaks, or someone puts down auto racing in general, It makes me feel uncoforable.

I don't just like NASCAR I love all forms of auto racing, like Super GT and CORR off road racing.

Can anybody please give me some advice?

Actually, I didn't. I thought it was very goofy, I thought it was a little bit insane and crazy. Yeah, it was a parody of auto racing like what caddyshack was to golf, but there were a few parts that i really didn't like, like the character Ricky Bobby sticking a knife in his leg which was really sick. It almost looked like it portrayed auto racers as mentally insane. To me the was more of a put down then a funny time.

I did however at a young age loved days of thunder, i was a little too young for it and i never saw it in the movie theaters i do remember renteing a copy of the video and really enjoying the race scenes. My grandma had to take back the video due to the fact that it had a little profantiy in it and i was upset cause she took it back, i didn't watch cause of the swearing i watched cause of the exciting racing scenes. When i got older i then found out how fake some of the scenes were and how some of the clips were over dramatic. I will however always remember it as my very first favorite movie.

I really liked "Cars" Even though i thought i was too old for pixar movies, I thought it was very well made and did a good job of portraying auto racing and showing what goes on in the sport/business, it also had a very good story to it, had a lot of good life lessons, and it had a very good message at the end.

I also got to see "Le Mans" made in 1971 staring Steve Mcqueen on Youtube, very good movie. There wasn't really much of a story or plot to it but it really showed what racing is like, or what racing was like back then. The ending was good too. The drivers were also down to earth and took responsiblity for their mistakes on the track, and did not whine or complain, or make a big fight out of it like they do today.

I also want to see "Grand Prix" Made in 1966, it's considered to be the greatest racing movie ever made, it won 3 oscars. Hopefully someone will put the entire movie on youtube in the future.
