Mine is other people. I can't know enough about other people I enjoy. Now I will note that I am definitly not a stalker, and I am not a celebrity follower (people who follow celebrities are nuts, most of what is "known" about celebs is complete BS). I just like to hear the stories of another's life. I don't know why I am so interested in other people, and again I am not a stalker, as I don't go looking for every last bit of information on a person I can possibly dig up. I just love to be around people and hear what they have to say.

I would say technology is a normal obsession for me, except that I go way overboard with tech, and can spend way too much time researching it (10 hours in 1 day, 80 hours in a week, etc)

What are your more normal obsessions?

The same applies with me in regards to technology.
I'm also obsessed with religion, which is pretty normal, I think.
Obviously, none of my obsessions are 'normal' because I know too much about them, but the subjects can be.
I also know a lot of the Apple product lines, and know vast amounts of information about certain products I have/intended to purchase.
I think it's also pretty mainstream to game now, even for females now. I don't really game that much now, but I've always been able to absorb information about games, and I regularly correct people in conversations when they're talking about games.
But yeah, religion and technology are probably my most accepted obsessions. I think some people find it a bit weird when I want to know a lot about people's religious beliefs when I first talk to them though.

So far the most normal thing I've ever been obsessed with has been The Sims 2. (Computer game. Life simulator--little digital people.) The level of obsession hasn't been normal but then, it never really is.

Films.

People think its strange how much I know, but not that it is my interest. Though it makes me stand out in Nashville - if music had been my first love, no one would ever notice anything different about me at all.

Since I found out about my Aspergers, I've decided to give up on my former career plans (I'll never really succeed if my social issues haven't just been "bad luck") and go back to school to get a PhD in Cinema Studies/Film and Television studies.

I don't think my interests in football or rock music are all that odd, but they definitely are as strong as most other obsessions.

I have an obession with films too, largely due to why I have a large DVD collection :) , along with the tv shows I watch.

My normal obsession is baseball. I live by the games every summer and watch them all. I go to several Red Sox games a year too. I also love the stats of baseball and by the end of the year, I'll know every baseball stat there is from who has the highest batting average, the the most homer runs, to the most wins, lowest ERA, ect.

Right now I have a obsession with cooking. I think that's kinda normal. I mean people have to eat food right?

I guess professional cycling. Most of the other sports I'm interested in (trail running, archery, triathlon) pretty much bring conversation to a halt. As long as folks have heard of Lance Armstrong, at least there is a possibility of a few minutes discourse. I know nothing about the normal Amuricun team sports, but I sure do love pro cycling. We went to Solvang for the Tour of California time trial last week and have always been to at least one stage of the previous years' ToC.

Possibly my obsession with earthquake/disaster preparedness. People used to think it was weird and paranoid. More people now ask about how they can do some of the household damage mitigation things that I have done. Time will tell if I have been wasting time and money.

I believe everything else I love is considered just too weird.

Writing, music, Twilight, philosophy, TV, penguins ( note I do not study everything about them. I just like them a lot.)

Gadgets, I think that is fairly normal... If there is a new gadget available, I have to know everything about it though... currently I'm obsessed with the Kindle 2 and researching mini laptops...
Books, I love books, I love collecting books, I love reading books, I love old books.... yea, you get the idea... lol
Crafts, that's a pretty normal one
Art, again, I think that's a normal thing too.

Probably the internet, as many people can get addicted to things like that.
