anyone else in band? I sure am and i have to say its one of the biggest "interests" i have ever had! I just wanted to see if anyone else wanted to talk about that subject

i'm not a musician, i'm a graphic designer, but my big dream is to work for some music band - you know, designing cd covers, work on posters, videos... i used to play didgeridoo - you know, an australian instrument. i played live once, it was nice, but not really the thing i would like to do in life...

I was in band, but it's about ten years too late for me to talk intelligently about it. All that remains are a few "one time at band camp..." stories, most of which did not happen at band camp.

was in one in high school, then two 'corporate' bands (you all work for a company, and they give you a room to practice in... Been about 4 years, never played for more than about 7,000...

i meant currentely and classical type of music not guitars and stuff

Taught HS marching bands for over ten years... now write for them as my second job. So I see the Blue Knights, eh? Was going to march there in 1995 but went to study at Interlochen instead that summer.

I played French Horn in highschool, and also in high school I played French horn with a local orchestra for a couple of years....It's a pretty awesome experience playing with a full orchestra i must say..

Yeah, I'm in a band called The Tiddlywinks, it's a stoner rock/doom kind of band, pretty good if you ask me, but I suppose I might be somewhat biased. I'm thinking of starting a second band, but I suppose I should probably get some better gear, really if I want to play seriously.

Sounds like a lot of similarities here... I've been directing bands since 2002... went to Interlochen in 1996 after deciding not to go with the Glassmen that summer. The whole band scene has been great to me emotionally and professionally.

I was going to be in one, but things never really got rolling once the band idea formulation stage passed.

If you ever need an arranger, feel free to drop me a line. I taught percussion from 1995 until 2007 - it's still in my blood, and I'm trying to find a group out here in the South that I can work with while I finish school. What did you study at IAC, if I might ask?

I was in school band or 4 years. I played the Baritone. I quit because I didn't like it anymore. I'm really into playing electric guitar these days though.

I studied composition as my major, and played trombone as a secondary lesson area. It was probably one of the best summers of my life. Still writing/publishing compositions and arrangements, and I probably wouldn't have the confidence to even get involved in that stuff if it wasn't for Interlochen.
