I have aspergers.
I have come to be a person who doesn’t require social contact due to a crappy childhood. I live at home and am doing year 12 over two years, I only live on knowing that one day i will be free of my parents.

My mum doesn’t like how anti-social I am and harasses me to go out and make friends, I have done that. She goes on about how I never visit my friends, so I go visit them and go to parties (even hosting a few of my own). Every step of the way I have had one reoccurring obstacle, my ****ing mother. she complains who I hang out with, she complains when I go out, she complains about my parties. I am stuck between a wall and a dumb place.

I rather enjoy my friends but I can easily live without them.
Keeping my friends I will have to spend a whole 2 years listening to mum b***h about the social life she made me get.
Ditching my frienst I will have to spend a whole 2 years listening to mum b***h about the social life she made me get rid of.

hear is her most recent hypocrisy. i asked mum if i could have a party over the school holidays. she said "i'll see how u behave for the first week" so i behave perfectly. during this time she went out 4 a few days on a family trip, i got to stay home because i had my job on the condition i don't have a party. one night work was cancelled coz there was to few customers, so i invited 2 friends to stay the night and we played computer games. my mum gets home, asks if i did anything happened and i say "yeah i had **** and **** over", im 17 years old, got nominated for student craniate (didn't even run for it, got nominated) and aloud to stay home alone for 4 days on my own. so naturally mum turns into a total b**** and flies off the handle. she accuses to of my most trusted friends for stealing $1,500 in cheques form a draw STUFFED WITH CASH and dose her best all round to win worst mother of the year (she found the cheques, she had lost them).
now she is trying to stop me having a party for ages, it is painfully obvious she never intended to let me have a party in the first place and is using this as a excuse. i called her out on it and she said i was paranoid, in a survey to see how people lied about this kinda thing it was shown accusing the other person of being crazy or paranoid was most common. the real kick in the teeth is she goes on about not being able to trust me, when i was completely honest with her.

I am sorry you are in such a prediciment. I also feel for you in your angst at having to spend more time with your mother than what you would like to. If it is any consolation, I, too have Asperger's (duh, the whole site is for folks with AS!) and I had to live with my mother for 18 years, too. I could have curled your hair with stories from that association, as I am certain you could curl my hair with stories you haven't told yet.

My reason for writing you is to tell you something. It is: you are starting out thinking that your mother's behaviour will be logical. This is where you get into the weeds. Time after time she has said one thing and done another, yet you just take for granted she will somehow make a deal with you and not go back on it. First time, shame on her, second, third, fourth time, shame on you, dude. You can't just keep setting yourself up to get knocked down every time. Hey, I know. This is because we shoot straight and usually never think that the other person has their own agenda. They do.

welcome to WP, Lex_Talionias, welcome home.

Merle

I'd hate that. I don't require much social contact either. My childhood wasn't the best. I had trouble making friends and still do. My parents kinda wish I would get out more but they're not constantly telling me to do so. I prefer just doing stuff in my room. I prefer solitary activities. I've been abandoned by some friends a few times so I guess that helps explain trust issues. Just having friends isn't all its cracked up to be until you find extreamely good friends you can always depend on no matter what and they like you completely, Aspie or not. Peace. -Power Girl
