I'm not even sure I should put this in the haven, because my intention is to try and turn a negative into a positive... I'm having a rough go of things today, not like anything in my life is currently going wrong, I'm just sucking at the mundane to the point where it's getting truly ridiculous.
Today is my friday night, I got off work for the "weekend" at 9am this morning and I had high hopes of being productive. I was supposed to call and raise hell over some medical bills that my insurance is gouging me on... Can't usually deal with that kind of phone contact when I'm exhausted though, that fell by the wayside, not the end of the world.
Next, I needed to work out my financial aid for school this fall. To do that I had to register on the university website, check out my offer, call up the program and see what the assistantship situation was looking like, etc. I registered, and then my registration info failed to work for some reason, so I was unable to get ANYWHERE with the process. This was coincidentally 5 minutes after the computer help desk closed for the day, so no dice on that. I think I may have entered the password wrong at the registration, and then re-entered the same incorrect password at the confirmation. Real nice. I wonder how I'm going to hold up to the rigors and complications of graduate school when I can't even negotiate the damn website.
Probably due to my fatigue, I was unreasonably frustrated at this point, and decided that I was not going to leave the house and just skip my errands (going to the bank, filling prescriptions, not exactly rocket science but for some reason more than I could deal with). I was going to content myself by getting my laundry done, which, I mean, so far so good, but right after I put in the first load I cracked my knuckle on the corner of a table to the point of drawing blood on the way out of the room.
I proceeded to screw up making half a pot of coffee (it came out totally watery and weak) which is completely unheard of for me, so I re-loaded it and now have a full pot of coffee that may or may not be OK (haven't checked yet), and that I certainly don't need.
I was about to lose it after the grad school registration fiasco, but since then my ineptitude has been just getting more ludicrous to the point where it is literally entertaining to me. It's 4 in the afternoon and I'm not going to go to sleep only to wake up at midnight and wreck my schedule for the whole weekend, so I guess my alternative is to keep grinding and do what I can (which will almost for sure get increasingly worse as the day progresses and I burn out further) and keep perspective by seeing the humor in it all.
I should have seen it coming too, my night last night got off on the wrong foot when I blew thru my alarm and woke up at 10:36 for an 11PM shift, having a 35 minute drive ahead of me, driving like a maniac half asleep in the rain, making it in 25 minutes and still being 10 minutes late. I didn't get a shower or anything, and I still haven't.
This is all trivial crap and I'm definitely not looking for sympathy, I made the thread for people slammed with whatever negative energy, trivial or otherwise, to have a place to make light of it all instead of beating themselves up over bullsh*t (as I tend to do sometimes, and as I'm sure others do as well).
You can laugh with me, or at me. It makes no difference to me.
I'm a f**king goofball and I suck at today, and I probably smell like a wildebeest. I can live with that.
Better luck tomorrow.

I think that we all have days like that...check...I KNOW that we all have days like that, including the most successful, dynamic, etc, people in the world who'd never even think twice about a board community like this one.

*chuckle* Thank you, because that was exactly what I needed today.

Awesome.
If that helped even one person grind out the day besides me, that makes it well beyond worth it. It was incredibly helpful to me just to get my thoughts written down, and today thus far has been better many times over.
