You generally cant go far wrong with Ubuntu but it also depends on your hardware. I like mint as a intro from windows but then theres the light weight distro like Rasbian which of course runs on my Raspberry Pi then I have Lubuntu on an old prehistoric laptop which runs great but I really like using...

Factory reset is absolute last thing I wanna try unless I really have too. If I cant get it sorted then thats what I will have to do but I would rather try to sort the problem if I can without any drastic action.

Yea thats normal to get less than advertised, its just the way the computer counts the bytes in decimal form I think so you get a 40gb drive and it will only have about 37, Im only guessing the numbers but you get the idea. Basically you never get the amount advertised but mine is a completely diffe...

My phone is saying my internal memory 16gig is almost full with just a few mb free space even though I store everything on my SD card and only really use internal storage for phone stuff like apps and I only have a handfull of them. Its causing the phone to run really slow ...

I wouldn't feel so robbed if we could actually get all the channels but our transmitter only gives us 14 channels in our one horse town. We didn't even have channel 5 till we went digital . People in the bigger towns get over 70 channels.

The BBC is a statutory corporation -- one created by an act of Parliament (e.g., the British Government). Thus, the British government "owns" the BBC, and enforces an excise to fund its operation. Thus, British citizens have three options: (1) Pay the fee and watch the telly; (2) Don't pa...

Arn't taxes usually paid to the government, I believe the government actually pays the BBC for the concessionary licenses they hand out to the over 75s. It just beggars belief, I just can't get my head round how they enforce it to encompass all the other networks but the BBC seem to be the only ones...

As you will already know if you live in the UK, we still have the old draconian TV license law but I've never completely understood the full legalities of it and probably most people don't. I get that its to pay for the BBC and all there programming so they don't have to actually earn it from advert...

I watched "Tag" last night and it was hilarious. Its actually based on a true storey of a group of friends that carried a game of tag on from childhood to nearly 30 years later.

Ive never had any problems before but in the last few months, my feet have suddenly started to smell bad. Even right after a shower they start to give a strong cheesy smell. I thought sweat had to mix with bacteria for a while before you get any smell but I can wash them and within minutes they star...

It took me almost a week before I tried on my phone and realised wrong planet was still here. I just thought the main site was down and just the mobile working because my security addon defaults to https on all my main computers. Does anyone know why this is happening. I would feel more secure using...

That pop up definitely looks dodgey. I'm protected from things like that with no script. No script is the best thing I ever used on the net, much more useful than an anti virus and anti spy ware. It stops the threat right from the source. Anyway everything's running fine now, thanks for the help
