Most neurotypicals will never be able to understand what Asperger's is and they never will. It's so frustrating trying to explain my strengths and weaknesses and why I have such a difficult time with certain aspects of life and they just don't get it.

It'd be a different place, but it certainly wouldn't be a utopia. It'd have it's share of benefits and problems like any other country.

That guy sounds like he would be terrible to work for because he has the mentality of a schoolyard bully. That scum isn't worth your time. Your father is probably better off working for someone that will respect him and value his skillset.

Then those people don't deserve to be part of your life. Do things that you find enjoyable instead (that aren't destructive).

I'm no good at drawing real people, but drawing from imagination or other artists' studies is something that can be done (used to do it quite often but for a while I just didn't have the energy). Need to get back into drawing and painting in general now that it's nice outside. Oil painting is not go...

Honestly, the best thing is to use facebook as little as possible or not at all. Social media in general is one of the #1 triggers for a lot of people and it hardly does any good. As the_pheonix mentioned, it's very superficial and shallow.

Not sure if this is the right sub-forum for this, but wanted to post this topic as maybe it could help others as well. What do you all do to build confidence? As of my entire life, I haven't had any confidence whatsoever, and no ego. I've hardly had any self worth. Now, I don't want to be arrogant a...

I just shutdown and feel exhausted and drained. Don't want to talk, don't want to do anything but try and relax and shut out the sensory issues. It's nice to just put some quiet music on, lay down in bed, close my eyes, wrap myself up in blankets and rest until my energy returns.

Not sure if the effects are as dramatic as they say in the article (I'd like to read a scientific report on the study). But it does have a point; humans are social animals. Even if us autistic folks aren't naturally wired for social interaction, we still need it like everyone else.

It's no fun, take it from me. Make yourself go out, even if it's just for small periods of time that won't be too overwhelming.

Mad Max:Fury Road and Star Wars Episode VII...both are fantastic films, can't wait for the next installments.

This reminds me that I need to see Mad Max. I've heard that it's an incredible action movie.

It really is, you should watch it as soon as possible!
