In new situations, with unknown people (with the exception of new unknown colleagues at work), I can become shy, anxious, stuttering, out of balance, etc.

That's me. I understand that completely.

Until you're out of money.

I've met very few effective therapists who consider your financial means when trying to "help" you.

My college has Therepy session for free for students so I'm not paying a dime for it.

I recently started going to therapy for depression/loneliness/anxiety. I've had one session so far and have another one scheduled in 2 weeks. How long will it take until I start seeing results? I've never done anything like this before so I have no idea. Also, is there anything else that I should kn...

I can't tell you what will work for you, but I can tell you what worked for me. I had zero confidence for the longest time, and didn't realize that was the reason why I failed at pretty much everything. Everyone called me ugly in school. When I was a kid, I accepted it as fact and was mostly OK wit...

I prefer having very few interests, as my mind cannot stop racing as it is right now. If I were to have more I don't think I can handle it. Video games, science fiction, history and music are enough for me (which is good, because 4 is my favorite number) A lot of Aspies seem to have video games as ...

Yes, I can never believe that people really like me. I just think that they tolerate me and feel like the have to be around me because they pity me. The anxiety has killed any chance I have of a love life as well because if I meet a man I like I think that there is no way someone that nice would li...

I feel like I could make friends and establish meaningful relationships if I wasn't so anxious about talking to people. Even people I've known for a long time give me bad anxiety sometimes. Sometimes my chest tightens up just thinking about talking to people. (especially girls. ) As a result ...

I don't feel like they are narrow. Interests are pretty much infinite. Mine just are not common. Many find what I have to say somewhat boring, I glaze eyes over all the time. Then I get frustrated and mad at them for not understanding me. I don't really get the regular conversation flow well. Most ...

We have similar interests, except I don't have girlfriend. Maybe sooner or later somebody will love me for me. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I've been told before that I'm not cool and boring. People often attribute it to the fact that I'm obsessed with "nerdy" things. I've tried to find a more varied taste in interests and tried to talk to more people but it's very hard. Is it ok to change yourself so people will like you? May...

I think being nervous can be from the pressure that you associate with a date. You should stop worrying so much.

Haha. I know right? I've been ranting a lot on this site recently.
