Well, this is not about my Aspie son, but my four year old NT daughter. Anyway, we are not a very religous family, I was raised roman catholic, but grew rather disinfranchised with the whole organization. My husband was raised Anglican, however after a string of scandles in the church, (Including a ...

My son had a universal response for everything, well, actually two: "good!" and, a little more elaborate: "It was good!" If pressed, he would get really frustrated, sometimes able to recall one point in the activity or movie and repeat it verbatum, but not really answer the question of "how was it"....

I remember "the look". Having recieved it mostly with my son between the ages of say, 2 1/2 and 8. For the most part now he is very well behaved. Having a son that was "different" was very isolating, parents treated him like he was plauged, it was very hurtful. I would love to go back in time now I ...

If the biggest complaint with Strattera is that it causes nausea in some and the focus is not as good, I don't think you have much to loose... All the alternatives can cause much worse problems then that! I agree too, people that are happy don't tend to write about how happy they are all over the pl...

As I mentioned, if it does not offer enough for the attention in school, you could try a very small dose of ritalin to compliment it. Talk to the doctor about that. However you have the summer to work out the Strattera, by September he can be on a higher dose then the starting dose, and the longer y...

We love Strattera in our house! I had my son on Ritalin when he was 7. What a nightmare! Granted he had a bad reaction to it, but he did not do well on Ritalin at all. They had to put him on Clonodine with it, because he was ticing so much. I don't know if it was the Ritalin or the Clonodine, but he...

Earthcalling, I loved your story - I hope it happens to us. My son just turned twelve and cannot bear water in his eyes. I still wash his hair for him or it would not get washed. Getting him in the tub is difficult but he likes the soak when he gets in there. He won't even consider a shower. When h...

No 'E' in potato. ;) I think I am living in 1984... someone just makes up their mind that we are going to spell words "differently" from now on, or maybe they no longer exist... compound this with my Spelling LD, the fact I am Canadian taught under a UK spelling regime, (not very successfully) but ...

Pierogi? I've had that in Poland. Eugh. Try barszcz instead. If you make it yourself it can be cheap and very filling. They come in different varieties, I should have mentioned that... basically they are a stuffed dumpling, they can be filled with sauerkraut, (not my favourite) or just a potatoe an...

Wow! It sounds like you're an excellent cook. I had never even heard of perogies or gnocchi, so I Googled them. I'll look for the ingredients in my grocery store. Thanks for all the detailed instructions! :) Both can be made by hand, I sometimes make my own Perogies, however usually we just get the...

I find perogies a good base for a meal. You can buy just the cheep frozen ones in a grocery store if you can't find / don't want to pay for home made and top them with a variety of things. My mothers standby was always to cook the perogies by boiling them, then top them with a mix of 1 pound of baco...
