Wow, tough times! I hope you can find some relief. When I am in some stress I tend to wear tighter clothing or more layers of heavy fabrics. It feels better in some inexplicable way and I like that. I;ve been doing that a lot lately, even with the summer heat that's been going on. Collar buttoned, ...

My body has a hard time dealing with cold weather, so much so that 60 degrees F feels like freezing to me. I almost always stay dressed/covered up from head to toe. I also love shirt collars (like on a dress shirt), and I love them big and I keep them buttoned at all times. Right now I am wearing a ...

... : Juvenile Halls (the ones I'm familiar with) have special holding areas away from the general population specifically for kids who have been taken from abusive situations. These are not cages, but they are also not exactly the Ritz-Carlton, either. Many are staffed 24/7 with on-site security p...

As long as the kid isn't put in with the criminals, yes, I think they should be able to keep the kid locked up for a short while. A lot of these kids have Stockholm Syndrome, and might try to run back to their abusive parents. The kid should not be kept alone the entire time, and there needs to be s...

authority for the sake of authority, and treating autistic behavior as 'bad' They need to screen workers like this as I have personally seen thugs and other low lifes work these kinds of jobs. People I wouldn't even trust to flip a fast food burger, as they most likely would hock lugies (and add ot...

Many people on the spectrum benefit from physical pressure in various forms. What you're describing sounds like the same effect people get from weighted blankets, weighted vests, etc. Have you tried any of those? There are lots of different weighted accessories/items available for ASD folks. I have...

I'm starting to wonder if my mental state is deteriorating, because among other things, I am wracked with PTSD, and I really don't know how long I'll be able to hold my mind together. I spoke to thearapists, took different kinds of medications of varying strength, but none of this so far has done mu...

I am more inclined to think conservatorship is harmful than helpful, based on what people have posted here. Using the other support options mentioned in the article is a better course in many cases. I do not believe that most autistic people need conservatorship, but they do need a lot of adult liv...

Im confused. How can one be an empath (read others emotions well) and at the same time say you can't/don't read others well? Aurora911 can speak for herself, but I don't have a problem with the idea. Intensity of empathy is not the same as accuracy. I guess I still don't get it? I mean I understand...

Fear of my mind going. I think I have the early stages of dementia , and both of my grandparents on my father's
side of the family succumbed to it. That is why I want to have a caretaker, and be kept locked up at night.

Does anyone else suffer from constant fear? Fear of rejection? Fear of being misunderstood? Fear of being bullied or otherwise targeted? Fear of being inadequate? Fear of being unmotivated and unable to achieve goals? Fear of abandonment and handling your difficulties alone? Fear of failure? I find...

It does bug me that Wal-Mart keeps the majority of their games behind glass without even having the cases out for people to look at. The only ones that aren't are mostly games based on other licensed properties like Barbie or My Little Pony, games that have been out for a long while, or PC games. A...

What sort of trouble do you get into at night? I have a rather bad case of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and sometimes I go and check light switches, doors, etc, and I drive myself crazy with it. Maybe trouble wasn't the right word, but I can get upset enough that I could end up doing something th...

In many places they will not allow you to stay in your room; you have to be out and with people all the time. If you stay in your room, they may assume you are isolating yourself and keep you hospitalized until you can force yourself to stay with everybody else all day every day for several days Ew...
