I keep the job because I can afford to pay the bills and the big read health insurance flag. One thing about being a drone in a large corporation is the benefits are generally quite good. But you're right. Every day I sit down to begin I feel like a few more bits of my soul have shriveled away and I...

Hi, I'm a forty eight year old woman with Asperger's. I was diagnosed at forty and to say it changed my life in many positive ways would be a gross understatement. After a couple of years of coaching I decided to go back to school to get a four year degree and possibly even a masters. It has been ro...

I too got the "talk" @ school in 4th grade when I was 9. I developed quite early and was mistaken for college freshman often @ the age of 12. That was quite horrible, I didn't have an concept of flirting then (nor do I now). I makes me feel good so many other Aspie women shuck the bra the minute the...

There are also heterosexual people who live in common-law relationships. I suppose I wouldn't really feel too bad about excluding them with a poorly-worded thread name - they CAN get married but choose not to. You know I was really getting in to the discussion until you made a point of dissing unma...

Surely out of the 105 people that have viewed this post, more than one person can think of something to help. Well the thing of it is Aspie's perception of a friends and an NT's perception of a friend are usually not the same. One of the books I have about Autism/Asperger's actually has a chapter n...

It's also because yobs don't go there. What is a yob? :?: I would love to meet other Aspies, I don't know if Aspie's actually maintain long term freindsships with other Aspies. The few people that I am somewhat friends with usually have keep the contact up as I just can't quite bring myself to most...

I look at several different factors. Long Haired Men: Androgynous appearance is more and more the social norm hence the term "metrosexual" especially in younger generations. The current standards are much much more open than in previous generations. I am 43 F and usually mistrust long haired men as ...
