So I had lunch today with my former director. First thing he did was apologize for having to "support my manager's decision" He also told me that she led him to believe that she was "working with me" to resolve what she felt were issues with my performance. They probably didn't ask me to quit to an unemployment insurance claim. In Washington, I would only need to provide the letter they gave me to prove I wasn't given a choice in leaving. But unfortunately, I haven't been employed long enough to file for UE benefits. The state requires 1,000 hours of e...

I have found that gaps in your resume do set a red flag on the recruiters radar. But in a situation that you have a hostile former boss, I would check with the HR department of the former company to see if he may be violating company policies. I was just fired a couple weeks ago from what I thought would be an ideal job. The reason I was "asked to resign" was "my skills and performance are not meeting the standard necessary" It was an accounting associate position, I have a B.S. in Accounting. If I was given proper training, and wasn't ex...

I recently applied for and was hired as an accounting associate for an arts organization. I felt it was a perfect job for me. It tapped my degree of study (Accounting), and had the potential to provide me with additional responsibilities in Information Technology. I felt good about working for the o...

Let me see... negative feedback... I intimidate my co-workers... I don't smile and enage my co-workers... I don't socialize with my co-workers I do not show enough empathy to my customers... I provide WAY TOO much information to my customers. I over-analyze situations. I need to be more assertive......

I tried to do independent consulting for a while. I had a base of customers from my prior job that were being neglected by the company I worked for because they generated too little revenue. It worked for me for a while, but trying to get new business... you really need to sell yourself... not an ea...

I recently tore the cartilage in my right knee, and had surgery. I was prescribed Hydrocodone for the pain before the surgery but complained about not being able to sleep. So after the surgery my Dr. prescribed Oxycodone. Again I find that I am not able to put my brain in neutral and sleep. I was wo...
