My brother is also a geriatric nurse. He's spoken about the 'creative response' as skibum said. I'm sure that's good advice in some cases, but my mother's most troublesome delusion is that my brother was shot and killed in her hospital room on Monday night last week. I can't go along with that. She...

He hurts her physically? 8O Has the school notified his parents of this? You'd hope they already know? I might ask the school what steps they've already taken to address the situation with his family. Maybe if the school officials are decent they could arrange some sort of meeting with you and the o...

We got our money's worth with her, that's for sure. I'm starting to feel sick myself and we have Les Mis tickets this week. Last time I had Covid it was Elton John. Her TV doesn't work in the private room. She has absolutely nothing. They admitted she'll be the least / last cared for patient because...

It's Covid. :(

We're going to have to pay a full-time nurse to stay with her in full PPE, in hospital.
I'm not allowed in anymore and she's still hallucinating.

"I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." - Thoreau If I've ever wanted to die it's because I've never felt fully born. I've felt that I'm in a m...

Did you see your doctor last week about the difficulty breathing?
Did they give you any meds or information?

I don't have a clue how to use AI but if I could, I'd want to see a day in my own life going normally with no stressors, bad luck, or complicated BS.

I wouldn't believe it but it could be fun for entertainment purposes only.

Stupid I've had so much on my mind I drove to hospital without my purse / wallet, and parked in the paid lot. That meant I wouldn't be able to pay to get out. The kids couldn't bring my wallet because I have the car. MR's out of town until tomorrow. I ended up having to get my daughter to Uber here ...

I don't remember turning 40.
It was during my trauma time so it wasn't even a thing.

The only age that made me feel old was 26.
My mother-in-law at the time said that was 'past the hump'.
I think she was right.

It's all kind of the same after 25 when you know you're a grown-up.

Thanks everyone. She's not doing so great right now. She developed a fever and chest cough so they put her in Isolation in a new room. They did a Covid test but results won't be back for 24-48 hours and in the meantime they aren't starting antibiotics. They won't even do an xray to look for possible...

I wonder if he was able to get his plane tickets refunded.
