This story sure would have been a good one for MTV's Catfish. 5 years too late. Believe it or not 3 years later I got caught up in something a little similar to this one, but didn't let myself get as emotionally invested and it didn't last as long. A Catfish can really teach you a lot about yourself... |

Hi guys I would like to share a few tips I've learned in how to deal and socialize with NTs. I would also like for you to share with me how you cope with them as well. The best way I can describe the NT social community would be like riding a surf board. Think of NTs like an ocean wave and you as th... |

My brother who is NT told me one time that everyone has their own self conscious issues and everyone worries about what other's think of them. Just remember that everyone who you think may be judging you for going alone are self analyzing their self and are probably not too concerned with you. They ... |

Before being diagnosed I always wondered as a kid why I would think things were funny in my own mind, while other's didn't get it. I always thought something was wrong with me. Even that symptom is in this list. Very thorough. |

I've noticed watching Saturday morning cartoons with my 5 year old daughter in the morning that there is nothing but crap on the main network channels (CBS, NBC, ABC, etc). This had been a tradition in homes across the US since the 1960s. You get this crap like Cookie Jar TV, more damn news shows, a... |

Hi has anyone else here with AS had the same experience of attracting other Aspies in the workplace, school, or life in general? I self-diagnosed myself at the age of 32 and when I think about the few friends that I had I've come to the conclusion that they were also Aspies. I've noticed that in the... |

As many of you know one of the traits of someone with AS is taking things literally. I wondered for a while what that meant but now I have some kind of idea. One time when I was a kid my dad told me to "water the dog". So I simply got the hose out and started to spray him. He got the bigge... |

'Deliberate withholding of peak performance due to belief that one’s best efforts may remain unrecognized, unrewarded, or appropriated by others." The above characteristic really hits home. My dad is also an Aspie and we would always say that he self-sabotage his success by not performing, showing u... |

You never realized being an Aspie was so hard? Yes you did, you've said as much in your other posts. Do you just enjoy making post after post day after day just to get a response from people? Pick up a broom or help someone else in life. It's not always about you. |

In this case I don't think the issue is how can you know when not to interrupt someone, but how in the hell could a father call his daughter a "b***h"??? No matter what the circumstances are that is extremely inappropriate especially for a father to call his daughter that kind of name. Wow! |

A lot of us here on Wrong planet have watched Adam (2009) the movie about a man with AS who forms a relationship with his NT neighbor. There are some who liked it and some who didn't. I loved it!! ! I loved it because it was realistic. I loved it because it showed the life through the lens of someon... |

I use to have severe night terrors as a kid and in my early 20s. I'm 36 now and they have seemed to subsided. Is night terrors a symptom of Asperger Syndrome and if so why? Mine were so bad sometimes that my parents would worry that I would severely hurt myself. I've damaged a thousand dollar piece ... |

Zelda, no offense hon but I've seen several posts of yours the last couple of years, and I think it has more to do with you. Yes you have AS, but you might be a little slow. There is nothing wrong with that, it is what it is. |

Such lists are long and disorganized. I'd rather a list that showed a category and then all the ways things can manifest, and why. On one side you have the person who talks too much and on the other you have people who aren't verbal. Well, why? Autism is a communication problem at one of its cores.... |
