Any chance you're hypoglycemic? I neither drink nor do drugs of any flavor - not even caffinated soda - and I've been asked if I was drunk or high when I forgot to eat for too long.

My college student job has been to tutor. I work for the local community college, in the math tutoring lab, and reasonably often I'll get referrals for private tutoring students. I've heard of people doing Craigslist ads, but I never got around to it because there's always plenty of hours with the j...

about the Pepsi bottle... maybe it's more likely to block the screen than a cup? I've never heard of that one being rude. About the "why", I don't get it either. If you have trouble with tone of voice control, that could easily make "why" seem aggressive when it wasn't intended that way; but a lot o...

I want to start an adopt-a-teenager charity, I swear. I'm really lucky; my parents are letting me live in their basement till I can afford the down for a house, which will be a lot easier to scrape together without the rent in the meantime. And even though there's six of us, our parents have managed...

1. I heard an NPR article about Israel where they've developed a blood test for a relatively common disease, where they can only tell that a kid will have it, not how severe it will be; there's been a rash of abortions by parents who don't want to deal with what may or may not just be a minor proble...

How about less loud things that you can hear and other people can't? Like the whine from a TV when it's first turned on; it can give me a headache, and Dad can't hear it. At least with a motorcycle or a lawnmower people will believe you that there is an annoying sound.

I don't see why the rules for who may own a gun should be different for Aspies than for anyone else. I also don't see why anyone should be allowed to own a gun without regular safety classes. Boring and obnoxious, I'm sure. But guns can kill or maim by accident if people are stupid about them. As fa...

Dumb question: how much does this matter? Admittedly, I'm NT: I'm trying to understand my little brother better, and it's kind of nice to know that some of the stuff he did when he was little was more than him being a brat because he could get away with it. It's good to have him make a little more s...

At last! someone, ANYONE else, who understands acceptable fluffiness has limits! And those limits remain in place regardless of gender. I hate shopping. I'm uninterested in sports. And cars. The most "girly" conversations I get into revolve around a) "I hurt, it's the wrong time of month" or b) preg...

I don't think objecting to random touch is an Aspie thing. I am extremely, extremely huggy - but only with about ten people, including immediate family. Other than that, a handshake is about the most I'm comfortable with. And, to the best of my knowledge, I'm NT. It can be such an intimate thing, I'...

On the one hand, yes - advertising is annoying, and I sometimes consiously avoid a product that has annoyed me with ads that are insufficiently amuseing and or overly repetitive. On the other hand - if you tend to stick to your own brand, how did which brand that is get established? 'cause I'm prett...

I would love a board for siblings. Most of the stuff I've found is not quite applicable to me - "I know when I'm going into a meltdown" isn't the same as "the most common ways other people can tell", and for the parent's board, it's talking about a completely different dynamic in the relationship. I...

I have a brother who really, really is amazingly much an aspie - the hard part to believe is that there wasn't a correct diagnosis sooner. Assorted other family members may or may not be, and I believe I am NT. There's a parent's forum, but I haven't seen anything relating to siblings. I'm 24, he's ...

Is every Aspie a nice person? Is every picked-on kid an Aspie? People are idiots - all of us. (speaking of which, all it will take is one reply post or PM to telling me to go away, and I won't touch the thread again, 'cause I'm NT.) Kids are little monsters. All of them. They're cute so they'll surv...

Absolutely and without a doubt complain, and possibly sue; in the meantime, you ARE still allowed to take AP tests; I'm not sure where the cutoff is, but my sister took at least one after graduating from High School; you are also allowed to CLEP stuff. Both are credit-by-exam type things; if you lea...
