Just curious how aspies fit the mold. I am asexual and male which is quite rare among non-aspies. Not as rare as it is among non-aspie males, I suspect. This is the only community where I've seen people who claimed to be asexual. Actually, over at the nanowrimo boards, I've seen several people clai...

My mom always told everyone how they could just plunk me in a corner and I could amuse myself for hours. I wasn't like those other kids who needed a lot of attention -- that was her point, I think.

I've been told that when people talk to me, they can tell I'm older by the way I express myself. However, for the most part, people think I'm 15. They are all the time asking me what grade I'm in, when actually I'm in grad school. I'm 24.

I take Toprol XL - a beta blocker meant for seniors with heart problems. It lowers my heart rate by about 16 points. I'll tell you though; if you don't want meds, wearing a weighted vest for an hour or so each day and while you sleep is just about as good as anything. I used to be on anti-anxiety me...

I left high school and barely looked back. I went to a school that none of my classmates went to and I started fresh. I had a blast. Same for grad school.

When I graduated college, I got a lot of this same kind of flak. I got my undergrad in instrumental music education, but after a near disastrous student teaching, I decided that maybe that direction wasn't for me. However, I had become interested in music therapy by about March of my senior year and...

According to this test: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/becker3.htm I'm a mesomorph - or medium size. In the past year, I've dropped 20 pounds. This is from a combination of a few things: too busy to eat, not much money to spend on food (especially fast food/meat), lots of stair climbing (I'm in gra...

The longer I've played french horn, the better my asthma has gotten. I used to carry my inhaler in my pocket all the time as a kid. Now, after 13 years of playing horn, sometimes I even don't bring it with me (usually by accident, but still). Stress can also make asthma worse. My doctor suggested dr...

meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, nuts and seeds, salad and flash-fried/micro-steamed vegetables, and fruit. I'd never survive. I only eat chicken and turkey now, and occasionally ham. I'm allergic to shellfish (my body tries to expel it from my system as fast as possible and by any means possible), nut...

I'm often not hungry--especially around mealtimes. Stress decreases appetite. So does dehydration. How's your water intake been for the past few days? Personally, I've dropped 20 pounds in the past year just from being too busy too eat (and general lack of funds in regards to snack food).

I was dxed with ADHD in 2006, and dxed with AS in 2007. However, they never took the ADHD off my dx, so technically I still have it. Meh, there are ADHD related scholarships out there; so I don't mind.

Art Therapy. Seriously. Therapy is science and research based, but with the art, it would be creative as well. I'm getting my masters in Music Therapy. The undergrad is a B.S.
