I'm just wondering if anything similar happens to anyone else the night before a therapy session (in person) or a meetup with someone. Almost every Friday night, I get very nervous about my therapist canceling once I wake up Saturday morning. I usually softly massage my tummy in bed with my blankets...

I got several diagnosis in my life… some came, some left and with the time I did my own research. I was dx with major depressive disorder, recurrent. This might’ve been true years ago, but since years I’ve dysthymia. I did. I didn’t dx with it though. I never got dx with tics, I have tics though, b...

I don't think it's never a waste of time talk to someone even if you do seem to be going through a bit of an easier time at the moment. If you don't understand the reason you tried to kill yourself (and it wasn't that long ago) then it's still worth discussing. Well I know the reasons I wanted to k...

Yeah and it's sad that you tried to kill yourself as well. The even weirder thing is that I haven't had any suicidal thoughts in just over a month. I don't get them nearly as often anymore. This makes me wonder if I should go forward getting a psych eval or if it would just be a waste of time. I ha...

When I've switched therapists I don't say anything. I just don't reschedule. This would likely be one of those times. She automatically schedules me every weekend. I never deal with the office for anything except for the phone call on Thursday. She gave me her personal cell phone number and told me...

Isn't it a good thing to not have mental illnesses Yes and no. It is a good thing to not be mentally I'll, but it's not a good thing to be told you have a mental illness and then find out that your therapist just told you that because they had to submit something a reason for treatment for insuranc...

It seems to me like some psychs don't like offically diagnosing paitents or telling them what those diagnosis are. They'll put things down for insurace purposes but not for paitents own records. That's how it's been for my girlfriend. They've told her she had a few things but lots of other things a...

Thanks for sharing. I hear your frustration and I think it's very understandable. Is she aware that you're autistic? Because if so, she should understand that changes to schedule and routine could be very difficult and stressful for you, especially when they're unpredictable and as common as it see...

how hard was it for you to find this particular therapist in the first place? can you find another? It was pretty time consuming and it was also a little embarrassing and scary for me to call offices left and right to beg for help. I started looking in February and I didn't get her until the beginn...

I just got another text from my therapist today saying that Saturday will be a virtual day at 1:45pm because she has a hair appointment from 9-1. (Yes, you read that right. It's a 4 hour appointment). When I asked her how often she does this she replied that it's once a month she's virtual on Saturd...

I actually like the color yellow. My kitchen is painted bright yellow and barnyard red with roosters all over. My least favorite color is orange. Especially neon(traffic cone) orange. I think it's because it reminds me of a jailhouse jumpsuit. I am not a criminal, even suspected so that color gives ...

[quote="DanielW"/quote] That's not true, as a patient, you can receive all medical records that pertain to you. this includes summaries written by everyone providing treatment as well as chart notes. If dysthymia was merely mentioned as a possibility, it was probably not charted and not fo...

those codes are for billing purposes, not for general information for individuals receiving services. The diagnostic codes cover a lot of different problems from physical to psychiatric and all other kinds of medical care. The doctor may have access to certain notes and records that other doctors h...

She just told me today via text that I was reading the old DSM guidelines, but the site I read says 2023 codes. As for the names, I just think that the average person who reads the letter for proof won't know what the codes mean. It's just confusing.

My therapist told me verbally that I have 2 diagnoses of Dysthymia and General anxiety disorder in addition to the Asperger's syndrome that I was diagnosed with as a child. I have been asking her to give me a letter stating my diagnoses for my records for over 2 months. Yesterday she had promised to...
