I had a conversation with an art teacher about visualizing math. It can be done, usually, but it just isn't the way it's taught since the people that teach math really didn't learn it that way. For example, in algebra you lean "FOIL" to separate and then multiply, say, (a+b)^2 and get = a^2 + 2ab +b...

I've also heard about the study that says women's tears are chemically effective in reducing male arousal. But concerning emotions manifested in ways other than effusive, torrential sobs, i think the opposite correlation is true. I should make a graph that tracks my stress level (independent) and th...

I've heard this everytime (except for one person who happened to have autistic siblings) I've disclosed in the last 2 years. It's kind of upsetting, feels like I'm being undermined, but at the same time i guess it's a sort of victory. I guess. I really do not hide my eccentricities at all, really I ...

This sounds like it will be a cheery presentation! Haha. First off, I'm always for keeping the mood as light as you can, but still focused and not too far from the topic. I mean, don't be a task master - you can joke around and have some fun (actually, in moderation this can make you all more produc...

I love this man. Spent so much time on that website; it's a wonderful place. Oh! Word to the wise (or hopelessly lost as the case may be) Another awesome math helper is patrickjmt on youtube. Oh man, I was pretty much in love with that man all through calculus I and II - and I revisited the fling du...

So, I was in a legit drawing class this semester. I had no experience and no idea what to expect going in but it has been a wonderful experience. I've never drawn with a model before, or at least never really tried to draw realistic depictions of things before so i had no idea what to expect as far ...

Thanks for the replies! Yeah... so ancient is a no go anyway. But I imagine bones that are just 1 or 2 centuries old will be significantly less problematic to work with, yes? And I will be working with human bone - probably a femur, maybe a tibia, and it should have some marrow leftover inside. Also...

Man, I've worked hard. When did my life get so ridiculously busy? O_o I don't understand why I have to prove to people how busy I've been in these scholarship apps by taking time that I don't have to write out everything that I am doing in a way that they find appealing. I wish they could just take ...

I'm a visual thinker and can't read that well. so answering non visual questions in class is a no go. If something seems nonvisual to you, you should try to come up with a visual interpretation of it that you understand so that you can answer questions about it. I am the most visual thinker that I ...

Hey, ladies! So I'm going to a halloween party with my highschool friends that I've known for a long while now and it's costume mandatory. I attend one of the most fratty and greek colleges in the US. We're literally almost 90% greek. We also have many spoiled daddy's girls about - you know, the sor...

I recently decided I should get a good pair (been running 1 or 2 miles before work ~5 mornings a week for a few months now and I plan to keep it up) so I googled some info on how to pick a pair out. ... O_O. I had no idea it would be so complicated. I figured I'd just pick a pair up in my size next ...

Title is supposed to be "relating to and/or easily accepting 'rude' or 'mean' people " but the forum hates me right now. :p I find that I tend to be more forgiving and accepting of others' social indescretions (stuff that most people see as being rude or mean) than others are. For example, a while b...
