Anyone thinking ASD can be cured or otherwise removed shows a fundamental lack of understanding of the condition. You may as well wish yourself out of existence...it would amount to the same thing.

I guess I might if I start feeling extra suicidal.

If other people did it before me, I probably would. I’m completely unsuccessful at the moment. I pretty much have no life or accomplishments to be proud of. Unless you include inspiration porn type stuff.

I tend to hyperfixate on Germany when I get stressed or worn out. It doesn't cause me distress though. It soothes me. I guess my hyperfixations soothe me to some extent. Sometimes I keep thinking about it past the point of it being enjoyable. I also get a bit of OCD traits showing up sometimes. One...

I do tend to get really stuck on an interest when I'm stressed and spend all my free time on that rather than switching back and forth a bit like I normally can. It's always something I've already been doing a lot of, and usually whichever special interest I've been into the most at the time anyway...

Usually it will be something that’s already a special interest. I’ll start thinking about it pretty much 24/7. Often so much it’s not even pleasant for me. Then it crashes. I guess this does happen when I’m stressed. This is pretty annoying for me.

Yes, because when I talk a lot about my mental disorders people think I'm "defining myself by disorder" or something. My primary special interest at this time is mental disorders. People often think I’m making my interest my “whole personality” if I talk about it a lot. No, they’re the on...

That sounds more like asexuality than alexithymia to me. It's nothing to be ashamed of, either way. Can you explain why you think it's alexithymia? My sexual fantasies say otherwise. I also seem to get attraction once in a while, but it often comes out of nowhere. When it’s noticeable for me, it’s ...

I don’t fully have alexithymia, but it seems to affect my sexuality. It’s hard to know when I feel sexual attraction. All I know is that I don’t want to date men. I like them as people, but I have no interest in dating them. People don’t seem to understand that basic concept. They keep trying to for...

I often have multiple special interests at once. Usually I have one dominant special interest. Usually I try to hide or tone down my most dominant special interest. Even if it’s socially acceptable. Mainly because people like my mom often make me feel ashamed of the intensity. I often have less inte...

It seems pretty hard for me. Whenever people approach me I just assume they’re approaching me because they think I’m weird and they’re curious about why I’m weird. That makes it hard to trust anyone who is friendly towards me. Especially if they have “normie” vibes. I guess this means I have to do a...

I tried learning Icelandic when I was fourteen and fifteen. I didn’t get super far unfortunately. I really was passionate at the time. After more experience with language learning I got into Finnish. It’s just a fun language to study. I’m at the stage where I can pretend I understand. I’m taking a b...

This is one reason I hate chatting with some NTs. Particularly when they’re trying to “get to know me” or figure me out rather than having a genuine conversation with me. I could mention something innocent like the fact that I enjoy studying Finnish. Suddenly they’ll assume a bunch of random BS abo...

I was dx ASD in 2018 and felt the way you do. Even though I was deemed Moderate functioning I knew there just freaking had to be more to the story. I'd read ASD posts on here and they didn't sound like me at all. I mean yes of course they do in terms of symptoms, but I was always so intense and so ...
