Hi men, Please be honest in answering these, I'm trying to do some field research (and would also like some ideas for when the day arrives for me in a few years, LOL). - How did you propose to your wife? - What was the setting? Please be as detailed as you are comfortable telling. - Is your wife NT ...

Hi guys. I don't mean the sensory attack of actually being in a movie theatre, I mean the movies and their plots. Are you able to follow them well? Do you get lost in the nonverbal nuances often used by the actors? If so, please give examples. What kind of movies do you like?

Good vid, good vid. What I find intriguing is that the majority of the English-language autism activism videos I see originate in the UK. I guess it says a bit about the different cultural perceptions of autism in the UK vs. the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, etc.

I have a credit card. Haven't used it in two years. Zero balance. Just as an fyi, your credit score will slowly go down because your card is underutilized. Do as I do, make a small ($20-40) purchase on the card every month and pay it off in chunks about one and a half or two times the size of the m...

If you don't have a credit card, you may as well kiss goodbye your ability to rent an apartment, lease a car, or mortgage a house - these are all generally dependent on years of building up a credit score.

They are a great thing to have. Like others have said, self-control is key.

You ask them "Ok, so what's your interest?" They tell you. You ask "Well, what aspects of that topic do you know about?" They tell you. You say, "Well, a person with AS might be obsessed with knowing *everything* about that topic if it was his or her special interest." Let me line up a scenario for ...

Teacher: And how do you spell that? Me: E-C-O-N-O-... The whole class laughs as I was supposed to spell my name, not the title of the class. (I don't have a very common name so it needed to be spelled out.) Oh my gosh! Haha! I'm sorry but that one is kinda funny. I bet the teacher thought you were ...

I find it funny regardless. It's just unfortunate that the guy who coined the disorder had such a name. Whenever I think of Ass Burgers, I think of the hilarious encyclopediadramatica article on AS: http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Asperger%27s_Syndrome You've gotta have some humor to get you th...

No prob. The song I was originally thinking of was "Cars," but now that I consider it, "Are Friends Electric?" would be a better choice. Numan has AS, and its influence is apparent in the lyrics of that song.

Thanks for the shout out, here's my original post. I like imagining what the world might be like for an NT if everyone had AS. You go into the doctor's office, and instead of asking you how she could help, the receptionist just glances at you, then goes back to stimming. When you finally get her att...

Currently I'm in a similar situation with familiar living. Though, I do not find comfort in it. It makes me feel like a burden and a caged bird who is shushed whenever she tries to sing. While I am greatful to my parents for their continued support and perseverance through my issues it is not somet...
