The policy changes only affect those requesting specific accommodations through DAS, so if you don't need the DAS accommodations nothing has changed. Those things should be fine, although I personally just bought a bottle at the parks and refilled that. I personally brought earplugs, sunglasses and...

So i'm going to Disney's Animal Kingdom in spring with a group. I know of disneys policies and accommodations but is there anything I should be mindful of? I plan on bringing my ear defenders, a water bottle, and a few sensory toys if I get overstimmed. I also plan on bringing a LOT of money becaus...

All you have to do is follow  The Rules  , and you will experience no actions against you from our mods. They're a decent bunch here. I haven't seen any mods here abusing their powers here. Personally, if I'm on a forum where the mods are abusing their powers, or at least using them in ways that do...

During my early childhood in the early Sixties a lot of the content of children's TV was Hollywood comedy from the 1930s. Like the Our Gang comedies, and the Three Stooges. I remember our teacher announcing one day that we "recommend that you stop watching the Three Stooges on TV" because...

That's dumb, Superman is good at jumping, all this flying nonsense needs to end now.

Many physicians (who can and do prescribe mental health medication) are probably much more familiar with the ICD than the DSM-5 since it is what they use for most disorders, and what they probably learned in medical school. That depends a great deal on where they went to medical school and what the...

acetaminophen synergistically boosts the effect of narcotics which it is often paired with in combo medications such as vicoden/lorcet. Not all of the effects, just the pain killing effects. Acetaminophen blocks pain signals, morphine and other opioids alter how we perceive them. When acetaminophen...

That actually makes sense. It's also worth noting that the ICD is a lot broader than the DSM is. The DSM is just for psychiatry and psychology and isn't necessarily intended for use outside the US. Which is another issue that has become more of an issue over time as the culture has continued to bro...

The job I'm currently working is the longest I've worked anywhere continuously. That's a little over 4 years. Although, I will be quitting in the near future as I've been treated extremely disrespectfully lately and key people in various departments are headed for the exits. I don't know for sure, b...

This morning, I joined an online presentation on how to get started as a child's book author. I've also seen similar seminars on becoming a digital nomad. They start out by reassuring the audience that everyone, including you, can become successful doing whatever they are selling. They show off a b...

I got a masters degree in special education. My plan was to teach in military schools abroad. Teaching in America has become so terrible it just isn't worth it otherwise. But they went and changed the process to get teacher certification. Now they have made it extremely convoluted and confusing, an...

I'm surprised it's being used at all in the US, but given how bad the DSM 5 coverage of various disorders was, an ICD version is likely to be adopted until and unless another home grown book is adopted. I'm not up enough to know when the ICD 11 came out, but it can take time for the necessary system...

Neither does Canada Post. How common is it for mail services to deliver on Sunday?

The USPS used to deliver 7 days a week and multiple times a day. It was possible in some cities to have a complete back and forth via email in one day.

Seinfeld was also a product of the post war New York Jewish scene. His point of view may seem alien if you're not somewhat familiar with that. For a long time, my best friend was a Jew from Brooklyn and I had a lot of exposure to that. But there was always going to be a lot of Americans who wouldn'...

Bill Maher is doing well centering his whole program around being "anti-woke".

You have to be over 35 to remember when Seinfeld went off the air. His audience is aging out of the demographics most advertisers want.

You also have to be over 30 to remember when Bill wasn't a sell out.

Sounds like the direction of travel is set. Sometimes you just have to do things incrementally so the more socially conservative people don't freak out. It's frustrating for more progressively minded people, but it's better to bring people along with you rather than try to force your progressivenes...
