A spoiled strawberry

At first I thought it was just tart because it was underripe, but then I noticed it was kind of fizzy too and I checked the expiration date on the container- Nov 21

Yup. My legs especially are always covered in bruises, most of which I can't even remember the cause of. I bump into things a lot Sometimes I'll injure myself, and my partner will ask me how it happened, and when I try to recreate it I can't figure out what the heck I was doing. I just fling my limb...

When I want to daydream, I stare off into space. Spacing out is easy since I have ADHD even with medication. I like to visualize what-if scenarios and listen to music at the same time. Music might help. Unfortunately/fortunately I don't have adhd, so I don't have those built-in superpowers. I tried...

"Focusing" and "daydreaming" are two opposite things in my experience. So focusing ON daydreaming strikes me as a contradiction. But if for some odd reason you WANT to daydream...smoke a little weed. Focusing on daydreams is my goal, I'd like to be able to sit and imagine anythi...

When I was a kid I could entertain myself pretty easily by imagining interesting or pleasant things in my head, whenever I wanted. I'd like to be able to do that again, but for some reason I find it difficult now. I have trouble focusing, and I have trouble clearly visualizing things. Does anyone ha...

When I was younger, I attracted a large number fake or unreliable "friends" because of pretending to be someone I wasn't, including masking. Nowadays, I don't hide my eccentricities, so the friends I have know the real me and are much more genuine. I feel like coming across as eccentric o...

They're both useful to me in the sense that they bring me joy, but I think my special interest in art has also been useful to me in the sense that it helps people respect me more. I've been good at making art ever since I was a kid, and it's a skill that a lot of people can appreciate and admire. I ...

I've had better luck making real connections with people when I mask less (and it always seems to be other ND people that I connect with) I think it's true that being yourself makes it more likely that you'll find the right people. However, being yourself also means allowing yourself to be vulnerabl...

I met a friend of a friend a few months ago who I really liked. Today my friend told me "he's currently single and looking, so if you know any nice neurodivergent people who enjoy acts of service, let me know". That describes me, so I told them I'd be interested, but then they told me &quo...

That's why I made the Cthulu comparison. One does not become "angry" upon learning an eldritch cosmic horror really exists; it's something deeply disturbing. So to with the deeper dive into the psychology of EDs. That's understandable. Sometimes when I encounter human suffering of a type ...

This isn't the kind of information that makes me feel greater sympathy with people with eating disorders. It's more like finding out Cthulu is real. I'm appalled and horrified and the knowledge reduces my desire to continue to live on this planet. I think therein lies the special interest I can't s...

I'm reading a children's novel that I got at a garage sale

It's a little bit too whimsical for me so far. It seems like it's going for an Alice In Wonderland kind of style, but not as clever or interesting. I'll keep reading though. I think I would have enjoyed it well enough when I was a kid

I've never had an eating disorder, and I don't know anyone with one in real life (as far as I know). The only person I've told about this is my partner, because I occasionally infodump to him about different EDs and common misconceptions surrounding them. At first he was slightly concerned, but he'...
