You should look more into interval training or sprinting. This isn't a healthy way to increase vitality or lose weight. Just look at a sprinter and a marathon runner, who looks healthier to you? Long distance cardio is perfectly healthy, we were meant to run long distances. Depending on your goals ...

Because she's stubborn. I figure if she feels better about her body with a little less weight on her and she's doing it in a healthy way that's fine. I love her so I'm not going to let her do anything dangerous and will do my best to build her self-esteem in the process but she's completely set on l...

the problem with that is that I can't be a competitive rower with meat on my bones. I'm too short to be a competitive heavyweight, meaning I must remain under 160lbs to compete. sounds like both of you are maybe quite particular about body weight? as in, she likes you chubbier, and you think you'd l...

emlion has a good point. it may be worth investigating why she would want you to be chubbier, especially since you were more muscular when you first met her, if i am not misunderstanding. I had the same amount of muscle but I had less fat. She's told me that she's not attracted to skinny guys and t...

sorry, if this might come out a bit blunt, but to me it looks as if she is trying to keep you from getting back into rowing again, by keeping you unfit ( be aware that she might not even have acknowledged that herself consciously  ), because she might think you will spend less time with her -...

Do what makes you happiest. She may also be saying she likes you bigger because more women (generally) like a ripped body, so there's less desire for you, if you see what I mean? I'm not sure i'm wording right what I want to say. Personally, i love a fit body. She has jokingly said that she's fatte...

What physique do you like in a man? I ask this because I got a girlfriend in January when I was about 170-175lbs, I now weigh ~210lbs (she cooks better than mom). I took a year off from competitive rowing to spend time with her and to get a break from 4 o'clock mornings but I'm trying to get back in...

I have been at times. I was a competitive rower for 5 years until I took a break last year. I'm getting back into it but it's hard. I find exercising in the summer really easy, I can go running, biking, rowing, etc. but I hate stationary exercise and I get depressed in the winter so I find winter tr...

Yes it's very noticeable when you're on it, not it won't cause permanent brain damage if you don't do it excessively for long periods of time and don't get high around your parents, it's a very bad idea. Like I said, eating marijuana probably won't do much for you, I've eaten half a gram and haven't...

the problem with eating marijuana is that a lot of the thc is carboxylized and won't have any effect on you. Heat removes this carboxyl group and makes the substance psychoactive. Hashish has been heated enough to decarboxylize it, therefore you can eat it. As for the effects, hash is more potent b...

Has anyone tried it? I've recently begun bright light therapy, I started with 30mins in the morning but decreased it to 25. I get depressed nearly every winter so this year I decided to try it. So far it seems to be working, I feel much less depressed than I normally do, which could also be related ...

I take a multivitamin and vitamin D supplements every day as well as omega 3 (although I've run out of omega 3 and need to get more). The vitamin D is only from October to May or April, it helps with my seasonal affective disorder. I am also trying bright light therapy this year for SAD.

if you're only doing cardio you're not going to gain much from creatine. creatine is useful for short bursts of power, like when you're lifting weights or sprinting. the thing is that after about 10sec of intense exercise, like a 100m sprint, your muscles are depleted of creatine, so for the rest of...

I need some answers from people who have kicked a habit. I wrote in my other recently created thread about my struggle with drugs the last couple of years. I was hoping some of you could help me out with some answers. The gist of it is that I smoked a ridiculous amount of pot for a couple of years a...

I'm back from my long hiatus with a post about how stimulants and pot screwed up a good portion of the last 3 years and are still affecting me to this day. I was prescribed concerta in my second year of university after being diagnosed with ADD and AS. This seemed to work fine for a little while but...
