@ Denver Dave - I have tried speaking with him numerous times when he is calm. He often says it wouldn't bother him. Sometimes he has difficulty seeing other peoples point of view. Kind of like.. If he's not experiencing it, he doesn't see anything wrong with it. Tonight he also poked me and I asked...

Hello again, I tried the non-med route for years. We then tried several non-stimulant and stimulant meds...nothing worked. He has also been in therapy for quite some time. We also lead a pretty active lifestyle...hiking, running, we even cycled 100 miles in 4 days. I try to expose him to healthy act...

My son has Aspergers/ADHD/GAD. His old doc prescribed this and my son had the dreaded "black box" side effects...suicidal thoughts, constant crying, etc. It was a nightmare. After that experience, I was scared to try anything else for quite some time. My experience with other meds is in the "ADHD Me...

Hi bjtao and chronos, I did speak to his psychiatrist about it. She thinks it has to do with all of his excess energy. I think that may be part of it, but like chronos, I am thinking the Ritalin also plays a part. I also emailed his therapist and she is talking to some of her colleagues about my so...

Hi Bizmum, My son is 11, and was diagnosed with Aspergers, ADHD, GAD, and strong OCD tendencies when he was 7. He also has the weak muscle tone..My son also used to get a lot of nose bleeds, but I'm not sure if that's related to anything. When I was a kid, I used to get them too, but it was from the...

Hi Hermier, Thank you for your reply. I read about some kids suddenly dying from it in the mid 90's. Professionals were saying this is extremely rare, but it really worried me. This type of article seemed to show up quite often, specifically in regards to Adderall. I also read many posts from people...

Hello, My son is 11 and has ADHD. We have tried a slew of medications..Concerta, Intuniv, Strattera, Ritalin, and Ritalin LA. This was after trying to go the med-free route for many years. The Strattera was a nightmare. My son was having suicidal thoughts on it and would cry all of the time. The Int...

Hi everyone, Thank you very much for sharing your own experiences, as well as your advice. I have asked my son on several occasions if something is stressing him out, but he says no. He just tells me that it is hard for him to stop the picking. He has even told me that he really likes school, so I d...

My son's IEP was granted in Maryland, but we may be moving to New Mexico. Do we have to go through the whole process again, or will all his accommodations carry over?

Thanks

It didn't help that at that point I wasn't diagnosed, and my math teachers in 6th and 7th grades...
