I don't think I have any. Maybe I don't understand what you mean by triggers.

I don't have pet peeves either. Not that I think everything is great. I find many things very hard or impossible, but those are not pet peeves.

It would have been absolutely terrible. A cesspool of arguments, bullying, and trolls. At least at my age I mostly know enough to stay away from that aspect of the internet. I wouldn't have known how to as a kid. I'd hate to think the evidence that would be left behind of arguments and angry outburs...

5'7" and a half; 170lbs. I don't look as fat as that sounds and my ideal weight would be about 160 or 155lbs.

It occurs to me that I rarely have occasion to smell much of anything. But there are currently several climbing jasmine vines in bloom in my neighborhood and I smell them when I am out bike riding. They are wonderful. So much so that I think it would be overwhelming if I smelled them all the time, i...

It would be nice to have a country run by people who are rational and logical and not easily swayed by other people's opinions. That seems kind of utopian. But on the other hand, the art of compromise and making decisions that take various viewpoints and needs into account is also essential, and the...

You've done an amazing number of things and you can be proud of all that you're done, and tried to do, whether it turned out well or poorly. As painful as it is now and was at the time, I'm sure you've learned from all your experiences. It's natural that you now feel wary after your relationships ha...

It's true that you don't want to ask so many questions that it starts to feel to the other person like an interview, but asking questions is generally a good idea, if you can keep it light and not feel like you are prying or being intrusive. Ideally, something they say will lead to a question becaus...

I don't know what natto is, but I like all the others. Sushi I don't particularly like but I can eat it. I love tofu, it's one of my favorite foods. I rarely eat it though because I seldom cook.

Sexism and misogyny have never been okay. They were not okay in the 50s or 70s and they were not okay 5000 years ago. The only difference is that now there is more public awareness and public speaking out about how wrong it is.

of course employers don't give a rat's ass what anyone's IQ or intelligence designation is, so long as they can do the job and have relevant work experience. At a job interview once, years ago, the interviewer asked me what my greatest strength was and I naively said I was smart, and then she made ...

I so wish I could ask: Am I bothering you right now? Do you want me to stop talking? Do you want me to talk or say more? What are you thinking? Have I explained myself? Or even to be able to say: I'm sorry but I don't understand. People take offense when you say you didn't understand them! Instead o...

Society seems obsessed with sucking all the benefit it can get out of kids with abilities, and with peddling the idea that everybody should be "maximising the realisation of their potential," and the well-being of the kids is given too low a priority. Yes! There are lots better things to ...

I think the last time I saw this movie was when in came out in 1978 and I was 14. I'm sure I didn't completely understand it but I remember thinking it was bad that the main character decided to emulate the Pink Ladies (I think that's what they were called) because they were so awful and unpleasant ...

There's some controversy as to whether it's even a good idea to label kids as "gifted." They become afraid to fail and it can stunt their academic growth, at least sometimes. It can also make other kids resent them. Apparently a classroom environment works best when it's focused on the gro...

Personally, I wish for one of two things: 1. An immediate global ban on all tobacco and tobacco products.  No exceptions and no excuses. How well is a ban on illegal drugs working? How well did prohibition of alcohol work? Banning substances that people want and seek out does not work and creates t...
