I have had about a week now to think about my diagnosis of AS and I still am not convinced. Terrible of me, I know...but I am just so unsure. Maybe it's because anyone I disclose this to is not believing it or thinks that's not what is going on--or they say it must be mild. The second opinion will b...

I finally told some co-worker friends...one said that she doesn't think I have it at all. The other two (I told these two people seperately) say that I must have it very, very mildly...I work for a company for adults with disabilities, so maybe they just think I must be extreme to have it or somethi...

I forgot to add--I have been an extremely picky eater since I was about 3. My mom remembers this--and I have been making my own meals since I was 8 years old! I also don't like things touching on my plate and if it's supposed to be cold, it HAS to be cold and vice versa. I think a lot of it has to d...

Well, would it be silly to get a second opinion? I think I am just denying it for no reason! I do see him again on June 2, maybe he'll have more info or thoughts then. I know I have it, I just can't bring myself to believe it. By the way, this guy specializes in autism and he is aware of adult autis...

To answer briefly, yes. Now back to normal. When I was first Dxed, even though I had been researching here and elsewhere and thought that I "could" be AS (enough for me to actually follow through with talking to a stranger :x )...I did wonder. One of my first, rather cynical thoughts was...."This pe...

I dunno why I am doubting it THIS much, except maybe I hope that I didn't ASK for this diagnosis and just get it. Do any of you know what I mean?

Am I the only one denying or not feeling "right" about being diagnosed with Asperger's??? What helps?

I know that already....I am so used to keeping medical stuff to myself, like the fact I have fibroyalgia--IRL, I usually never even share it. I have told one close co-worker who thinks she could have something like it too and my mom and husband so far.

Yes, that was one of the main things (and something that made me cry). When I was a kid, I used to rock a lot and made my own meals since I was 8...I dunno, I guess he wanted to mainly know about social interactions and when I first noticed this stuff. I told him when I was in sixth grade, I really...

I think one thing I am relieved about is the whole humor thing...I really DON'T get some jokes and people thought I was ditzy or stupid...but it took me forever to "get it." And some other things feel good to know--I just wish that I could have come back and say that I don't have it at all. When I w...
