I really want to give a friend of mine a hug, but I don't want to creep her out. She gives all her other friends hugs all the time, so if I were to give her one, it shouldn't creep her out, right? But, I don't usually touch people that much, and I don't consider myself to be likable, so I don't know.

Yeah, sometimes bullies from the past will try to make friends with me, but I just ignore them because I can't trust them.

It's like that with me too. People seem overly nice, even though they act differently when talking to their other friends. I wish people would learn that I'm not stupid.

Welcome to growing up. As people approach adulthood their interests change to relationships, hanging out with that one special person they are dating, getting ready for college, their first job, etc. I noticed your age so you are right at the age people gradually spend less time with "friends" and ...

I remember when I was 13 or 14; back then, I had lots of friends, and they all accepted me. One year later, I didn't get to see them as often, but we were still all true friends. The year after that, people only talked to me when they needed help, even though they'd talk to all their other friends l...

I'm 17, and I feel that I need to get a job. However, I hate having to interact with people. Does anyone have any idea of a job that a high-schooler like me can get that doesn't require one to interact with people very much?

I hate seeing people together, having fun, telling jokes, playing, and overall having a good time. Does anybody else feel like this?

Did it just suddenly turn off, or did it go through the shutdown process first? Because if it just turned off, without any notification that it's shutting down, it could be anything. Have you or anyone else ever run a virus scanner on it?

I had one back a few years ago on my 8th grade literature teacher. She looked pretty young; when I first met her, I thought she was another student. As weird as it felt, other guys my age thought she was hot too. I never admitted it, though. Now it seems like I'm starting to have another one on my c...

After witnessing all the stupidity committed by my fellow peers, of course I feel older. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only male student in my school with any sign of intelligence.

I'm still having trouble with showdesc, though. Is it the way I'm referring to the object's data, or what? Did you even read my response? Fixed it, You will need to send the socket reference to each of your functions that requires it. i.e. $templol->showdesc($sock, $fromnick); then add my $sock = s...

Guessing here. If your line says: my $classes{"war"} = Charclass->new("Warrior",20,10,0,-10,0,0); You need to change it to: my %classes; $classes{"war"} = Charclass->new("Warrior",20,10,0,-10,0,0); Although I tried that earlier with no success, I decided to try it again, though this time with succe...

Your syntax for accessing members of arrays is wrong. If you have: my @array = ('this', 'is', 'a', 'test', 'blah'); And you want to access 'test', you need $array[3] NOT @array[3] #this is wrong It's confusing, but it's perl. Larry wall says it's like english, when talking about a group of apples y...

You don't have enough information here for us to help you. The package definition looks fine. You need to show us how you're trying to call the method. You're doing $blah->showdesc(); and $blah is undefined. $classes{"war"} = Charclass->new("Warrior",20,10,0,-10,0,0); #This line should be in your m...

OK, I'm kind of new to Perl (I just learned it a few days ago), and I'm having a ton of trouble with objects. I'm trying to port an IRC bot I made in Python to Perl, since Python can't handle math too well. Python code: class Charclass: def __init__(self,name,clb,mw,mb,mc,lock,elem): self.na...

The 90's were great and all, but the only problem with it is all these kids that get all reminiscent about it, when it seems apparent that they were never old enough to experience the things they're reminiscing about. ? Like what? I'm talking about the kind of kid that goes on and on about all thes...
