Most of my off-work social interactions before the pandemic, centered around going on excursions, visiting the cinema, expositions, conventions, book clubs, and the like.. based in meet-up groups and organisations for common interests and hobbies. Needless to say that stopped dead from March 2020. N...

I finished secondary school at 16, and didn't enroll in a follow-up school afterward. I was living with my parents while I was preparing for my exams that would have allowed me access into university, but I failed to pass those exams due to psychological stress. Subsequently, I started searching for...

Janet Jackson? Stevie Nicks? Where are Judas Priest and Iron Maiden? Sorry, but the Rock Hall of Fame has become a big joke. It's never been a Rock Hall of Fame as in exclusively inducting artists that make rock music. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is open to all recording artists that make popu...

Sorry, but I agree with Sandpiper. The people whose company I've enjoyed best throughout my life have also been NTs for the most part. Most have excellent social skills and some are very extraverted; they are open-minded and share similar interests to mine. On occasions on which I found myself in th...

For me it's not an either/or thing, at least not anymore. I recently joined an online community with quite intensive and immersive social interactions, and I genuinely care about my new-found online friends to the point where on some days I'll forego studying or going to events centered around my in...

Glad to read you've made such progress! Thanksgiving for sharing, it's honestly very inspiring.

I may not have compulsions on that level, but my father had OCD, so I've witnessed how debilitating it can be.

Aspies routinely get fired for working too hard and becoming a threat to their coworkers. They think that hard work will compensate for the lack of social interaction on the job. They do it over and over again. They are fully aware of the standard of work required. As is obvious from their rants. H...

I'm sorry you have to go through this during the Holidays. I stopped celebrating Xmas and New Years a couple years ago, and I even avoid visiting my family. In the end it was just a stressful charade, and I was no longer willing to keep it up. But they understand. And I'll visit them in January inst...

For the first time in my life, I had lots of interaction with online gamers this year through Twitch and Discord. I had previously mostly interacted with old comic book fans on message boards, and was surprised at how different the culture is. I noticed two prominent autism memes; one was the "...

It will truly unite the Seven Kingdoms! That is, until they introduce a type of pizza called 'Summer Isles Pizza' which has chunks of pricklecones on it: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71%2BqAJehpkL._SY355_.jpg And War will start again over whether or not Summer Isles Pizza is good.

I read this, and I was like "Huh"? Here in the Netherlands, one will face no legal repercussions after attempting suicide.

Pop music. I avoid talking about the latest albums of Justin Timberlake or Christina Aguilera here on Wrongplanet, as most folks are into metal and alternative rock. (Love me some Megadeth though!)

I am legitimately boring myself. I don't have that much to add to any given conversation, I'm not knowledgeable on any topic, I don't get up to exciting things in my spare time. But it's OK, I know that a lot of people are put off by it, but I don't let it bother me too much.

Black Aspies, do you feel you have more problems with black NTs than white Aspies have with white NTs? The same amount? Maybe less? I've always wondered. I think black American Aspies may actually have it a bit better among black NTs than white Aspies do with white NTs. I would say, percentually sp...

I co-sign sandpiper. I mostly go to events organized by nature lovers and history buffs, and they're filled with NTs that talk about a host of interesting topics.
