For me if I collect a full collection of things, I am then done with them. All the fun of collecting is in the process of it for me. Getting the full set is the ultimate goal, but after it is collected there's nothing to do with it any more. I don't get much pleasure out of just looking at it, and w...

It seems to me that many people with great power and responsibility assume a sort of Asperger's character. After all, when you're worrying about running the country all the time, I think social interaction and all that might seem a bit trivial. Gordon Brown probably has nothing more than that.

You Are 30% British You're about as British as a half hearted Anglophile... in other words, a piss poor Brit. If you are indeed from Britain, you probably consider yourself a European more than anything else. If you're trying to pass for a Brit, you're going to have to try a little harder. Go to a f...

Mine is coming up soon... not feeling too enthusiastic about it. I'm doing it in a local library which is a pretty good arrangement for me, but it's still not a nice prospect.

How did you all find your work experience?

For me it's the arts: Art, Music, Drama etc. I just have no imagination for those kinds of things. Although I'm decent at writing stories. I do well in English, but English is easily my least favourite subject.

Humans have never had a good relationship with nature. Even 'primitive' people destroy nature--the megafauna of Australia and North America disappeared around the same time as humans arrived there, and the early settlers of Madagascar and New Zealand wiped out the wildlife there for certain. Our rel...

Nerd is actually derived from knurd, which is the opposite of drunk, meaning they do not go out and drink. I did not know that! I'm fascinated by word derivations. According to this it's from 'nut'. I don't think anyone used 'knurd' until Terry Pratchett wrote Sourcery in 1988, and 'nerd' has been ...

I want Labour to win, but only so the Conservatives stay out of government. There's really no ideal party for me here--New Labour has become quite right-wing and the Lib Dems will probably never win, and are not perfect anyway.
