Its no more insane then Applescript, or other 'natural' programming languages. If anything, its a brilliant parody on the insanity: display alert "Hello World!" buttons {"Rudely decline", "Happily accept"} set theAnswer to button returned of the result if theAnswer is "Happily accept" then beep 5 el...

The community driven noob to pro guide is pretty good, definitely should be on your list of resources, but there are places where it is incomplete (IIRC). If saving money is a principle concern (Im guessing thats a big yes) then yes, try the noob to pro guide - hey, it is free, and what do you have ...

I very often consume, and only rarely promote, tutorial books. http://www.amazon.com/Blender-Foundations-Essential-Guide-Learning/dp/0240814304 The Blender Foundations Essential Guide was a painless way for me (a noob to 3d modeling) to use Blender in a couple of weeks. Buy it, you wont regret it. (...

"3D Studio Max 2010" doesn't that cost like $3000 Yes, if you were to buy it. Most people just steal it. That said: SketchUp --> Blender --> Maya / 3D Studio Max Start with SU (as you did) and work your way up when it no longer meets your needs. By the time you actually need the stuff in the profes...

One of God's Names is "Lord of All Men", and there can be no Creator without a Creation, or a Lord without subjects. The idea that the Creation is without beginning or end makes sense theologically, it's just taking some time for science to catch up ;) ci: one of the things I learned in college is ...

So, Im making a robot without a microcontroller, on a breadboard. So far I have the timer, flip flops, and TTL logic done. I have two outputs which go to cheap DC motors. When the output is true, I need to make the motor go forward. When the output is false, I need to make the motor go backwards. I ...

Does the first(arbitrarily named) dimension appear as in inaccessible to the 11th as the fifth is from us? Are we talking about a mobius strip here? Ill let him answer in detail since hes more comfortable with the subject than I, but no. A 'compactified' dimension is cyclic on a finite scale - our ...

@huggs Just to clarify, Im not trying to be rude. Okay, forget what I said earlier. Stop reading books about string theory. (I know its exciting!) Instead, read books about Algebra. Then, learn Trigonometry. Then, learn Calculus. From there, learn Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. The khana...

As far as I am aware, time is the 4th dimension, is it not? Hence the thread title, asking about the fourth and fifth *spatial* dimensions. Anything beyond the classic, 4 dimensional model of space-time is to my mind the same kind of mental gymnastics that the organized religions use to explain awa...

Isnt there an expansion to DA:O ? Pick that up. I havent played it, but DA:O was the best RPG to come out in the last 5 years.

Fallout is popular, though, as is Mass Effect.
