I'm just curious what shells my fellow Linux/Unix-like OS Aspies have as their default, to potentially generate discussion and sharing of configurations, screenshots, and tips. :-) I use Zsh as my default and I haven't used anything else for a long time. Zsh's Fish-like syntax highlighting and autos...

I looked at your Golang article. Nice variation of the Pet Shop type idea. If you are interested take a look at rosettacode for more example (and undocumented examples) of Golang and other languages. I've never heard of the Pet Shop type, but it's not hard to think of concrete examples for any kind...

I do this finger tapping stim and sometimes I zone out while doing it. Whether I experience intrusive thoughts while doing it I guess depends on my mood or if they were triggered by something that made them more intense.

I'm diagnosed with combined-type ADHD, and also Autism Level 2. I'm always punctual and I have a lot of routines, which is my autistic personality. I'm hypervigilant about being on time and I can have a panic attack or meltdown if someone else is making me late for an appointment or deadline. Regar...

I was diagnosed in ADHD. I'm not very organised. I never used to have a good concept of time but over the years I have learnt to improve my time skills because I get buses a lot. I have a disorganised mind. I make a mess without realising that I have made a mess until someone tells me. I'm quite ha...

As a teenager I definitely made a couple people think that I had a huge ego, or that I thought I was always right. Ironically, I have always been very self critical. But I definitely used to concern myself more with being right than being polite. I mean, you know how it is with special interests. Y...

My goal is to see if I can more confidently rule out ADHD in myself. To clarify: what I mean is that one explanation/theory is that I have ADHD. I'm very forgetful of things if I don't make some kind of external note of them. I can become distracted pretty easily depending on my mood and what the d...

Is being called pretentious when you're just doing normal stuff you happen to enjoy a common thing for HFA people? Technically pretentious = putting on airs and graces or showing off for the sake of it. I don't do that. But I'm honest about things I enjoy. And people call me pretentious for that. J...

Yeah, I'm trying to just avoid disagreeing with people who are generally on the same side as me. I can get nit-picky with relatively minor things that I feel like people are doing "wrong". This behavior seems to increase with my stress levels/irritability and also contributes to it. I don...

I'm not diagnosed so can't answer. I have all the textbook markers of ADHD but like you am not sure "yea" or "nay". Everyone considers me organized (with information); my house is a mess. When I focus on something or impose my own rules, I am very organized, punctual etc. Otherw...

I understand that ADHD is experienced differently for everyone, but am wondering if it is common/likely for anyone to have ADHD and still be organized, routinized, and punctual. My goal is to see if I can more confidently rule out ADHD in myself. I've always been an organized and punctual person, bu...

Nope. Wasn’t gifted. Got creative as a teen, though. I became a Wolfman gifted in Howling :P Yep, same. Except for the Wolfman part. Though I did grow a lot of hair during puberty. Something that differentiated me from my peers in middle school and junior high was my creativity and my lack of carin...
