Why make it such an issue if it is at home and you don't have visitors? He seems to understand that it isn't something that is done out in public. Don't give him a negative view of his own body. Understand that we get sensory overload very easily and that the constant rubbing of clothing on the skin... |

The first time I heard the word "cremation" as a child I thought that the root word was "cream" and thus had a mental image of them taking the dead body and putting it in some sort of blender to liquefy (back to that "liquidate" word above) the body into a cream of some sort. Ewwwww..... One of my a... |

When you get into an elevator turn around and face the front - even if the person you are talking to is at the back of the elevator. |

Leon Theremin developed the next synthesizer. It took a great deal of skill and slight of hand to play with the proper finesse.

Thadius Cahill invented probably the earliest synthesizer called the Telharmonium. The earliest cable entertainment service - all the way back in the 1890's!

I have shoulder problems, so the breaststroke is much easier for me than the crawl. Since we are on the topic of swimming, I'm wondering about lung capacity. I can swim the length of a standard sized pool underwater on one breath. I scare lifeguards by meditating underwater for for minutes at a time... |

Well, for me, soft, cotton PJs are a "safe" feel. Yet even contact of skin on skin or my breath on my skin is just...UGH. It drives me nuts. I wonder what it is that makes each of our sensitivities SO different. Skin on skin I don't have too many issues with (as long as I have washed recently). My ... |

I sleep naked because of sensory issues. I roll around a lot when I sleep and always found that PJ's would end up tied up around my armpits, cut off circulation to my arms etc. Sheets and a blanket are all that I need to keep warm (if that since it is summer.) |

I actually went to see it in the movie theatre several times - dragged people that I knew off to see it as well. |

Metallica --> Nothing Else Matters For a truly different rendition, I find this one rather haunting: Likewise, now that Apocalyptica has become a bigger name in America, their rendition of Nothing Else Matters from 10 years ago is worth ... |

It is a mix for me. When I'm bicycling I like tight bike shorts rather than the loose mountain bike shorts. With loose shorts I can't stand the feel of the edge of the shorts dragging back and forth against my skin as I pedal. Likewise with loose fitting bike shirts - I prefer a tight fitting arm so... |

BBC3 just aired (May 6th) a special called "Autism, Disco and Me" which would discuss many of these issues. It is worth watching. The official website is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00sbk0y Not living in England, I obviously couldn't watch it directly. You will find the episode here: http... |

It would seem to me as though the asexuals would be the one group that legitimately should become Catholic priests and not marry. The guys who find themselves with "unnatural drives" put themselves into the priesthood thinking that their vow will keep everything in check. It doesn't. Eventually thei... |

See? Prayer fits the definition of "magical thinking". People pray over a sick person, with the belief (or hope at least) that the person will get better. So therefore, all people who pray with that kind of belief or intent would be classified by the atheistic psychiatrist as being Schizotypal. |

Maybe that 'child' would have liked to, you know, not bully him to the point of f***ing snapping. I was under the impression that the murder victim was a random selection, unrelated to any previous bullying incidents. Did I miss something in the story? I recognize transference. In looking back at m... |

"Magical thinking" is defined by the person making the diagnosis and they will take their personal baggage into the observation. Thus, if they are looking at a Charismatic Christian who believes in "Word of Knowledge", or "Word of Wisdom" event and the doctor only believes in the physical realm, the... |
