Mainly for triathlons. I'll do the 100 fly competitively in off season; not with any glory.

You should probably get various medical conditions ruled out. Beyond that, it sounds like it might be a permutation of pelvic floor dysfunction, for which there is physical therapy and occupational therapy for.

It sounds like acrocyanosis, which is nothing to worry about per se. Capillaries constrict in the relatively cold water and deoxygenated blood pools a bit. More likely to happen in people who are very lean. There was some published observations back in the 80's postulating that acrocyanosis was more...

I regularilty feel like I got hit by a freight train. Unfortunately, that's the norm for me. I always feel tired no matter how much sleep I get and I've become very sensitive to pressure changes in the atmosphere, it's gotten to the point where I can smell when a storm is coming. It's strange I kno...

No. Type 1 diabetes is autoimmune. Adrenal hormones associated with stress will decrease insulin sensitivity; but, it's transient.

Certainly do manage stress appropriately.

Hey, I've got a few questions about anti - depressants. I'm tired of hating life, and I was thinking about seeing a psychiatrist. I have a few questions about your own experience/knowledge with/of the drugs... Are their any anti-depressants that don't make you gain weight? Or even loose weight? Do ...

Thanks man. Can anyone else back that up? I did read one thing about it and someone said (from an unofficial source) "if you take the anti-depressant Prozac, Sarafem, or fluoxetine, DO NOT take creatine, as Prozac will elevate levels of creatine phosphokinase, one of the metabolites of creatine in ...

Andrology is fairly complex. Was the above value a morning value, or close to whenever you normally get out of bed? That would be the peak value. Other issues are how sensitive your androgen receptors are and your level of dihydrotestosterone, which is more potent. Yes, there are drugs that modulat...

OP - So what exactly are your current free test levels? I had it checked a few years ago and it was in the low normal range. I forget the exact number. If its important, I can go look it up. EDIT: Ok, looked it up. The test was Total Testosterone and the value was 417. The normal reference range is...

Have you done any swim clinics in the off-season? I spent every Saturday for 5 months 1-on-1 with a swim coach. I'm still slow. Endurance is terrific and my technique LOOKS good... but I'm just slow. Duathlon, eh??? Maybe I should target races where they have frequent storms??? :) Or any duathlon s...

Not a huge feat but this month I qualified for USA Triathlon Age Group Nationals. If the finishing times in Tuscaloosa this year are anything like they were last year I don't think making Team USA would be the hardest thing I ever did. That is huge actually. I race in Ironmans 70.3 mostly. I do pla...

From my observations, probably the majority of Aspergians are non-athletic and tend to be sedentary given that alot of them tend to be interested in activities that don't require any physical excertion (computer programming, video games, electronics, etc...), in addittion to their poor coordination...
