| Thank you for your replies I will take your advice on board. I hadn't thought that trying to keep him away would have the opposite affect. There will be no more playdates with this particular kid, school contact will be the limit and I'll just have to try and reinforce our rules when I see behaviour... |

| My son 5 made a friend early on in preschool. He glues to this kid and doesnt want to play with anyone esle. I'm extremely happy for him that he has found a friendship. | It is frustrating to have communication difficulties with anyone. So, yes, a parent can get aggrevated when trying to explain a concept to a child that the child just isn't getting. | My 4 yr old daughter chews her shirt collars when she is over tired or over stimulated. She also licks my face frequently, both as a show of play (like a puppy) and as a show of affection (she is starting to kiss, but prefers to lick) This is exactly what my son does :) For DS it's an anxiety thing... |

| I can relate! We have no family here and no reliable friends to help....When I'm sick it's just me to look after the kids and its hard. | My Son's speech therapist/teacher has advised us to have our son re assessed/reviewed for different diagnosis. She doesn't believe that the "Mild Autism" label fits him (diagnosed at 3.5years now 5 years). She doesnt see any of the repetitiveness or social issues that are common in kids with Autism.... |

| My son is taking the omega 3 fish oil ; fruit flavoured for kids.... He loves them! He's been taking them for a year now with no side affects that I can see! | Thank you so much for your replies... They are all so very helpful!! :) We managed to get him to wear some ear muffs today (was a problem getting him to wear them in the past) and he was able to go outside with his dad and watch him mow the lawns... huge breakthrough for him... so the ear muffs are ... |
