Actually I would say that the thing that puts humans above other species is that we adapt the environment to help ourselves, rather than we adapting to the enviornment.

I'm a lot like asplanet. When i was assessed for my dyslexia the pyscologist tested my processing speed using an iq subtest in which i scored well over the 99th percentile. In fact this high visual processing speed was one, of the many, things that made me come to accept that i was neurologically di...

Your mum is right. The ONLY difference is language delay. By that they mean if you can't say single words by 2 years of age you are HFA, if you could then you're aspergers. Bare in mind that some pyscologists don't differentiate between HFA and Aspergers and even if a language delay is present they ...

So mensa only cares about the number? When she reaches school, she may seem far more normal. Besides, at her age, an IQ of 154 isn't that big of a stretch. And how many kids her age are ever even tested? As for how she is acting, she acts merely like someone that isn't interested. I don't blame her...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8026439.stm This 2 year old has become the youngest British member of mensa. Have a look at the video. Two things that occur to me are the lack of eye contact with the psycologist, particularly at the beginning and also your repition of the same question. Sh...

I guess this is a good oppotunity to raise a huge flaw i see in wais iii intelligence test which i'm perplexed about no-one else picking up. That is the inclusion of volcabulary and general knowledge to determine verbal intelligence. How can these two tests be included in an iq test? Surely this wou...

Some people say he [Simon Baron Cohen] may have AS himself. Having met and spoken to him I find that very unlikely. Although before I met him and knew him only by attending his lectures I did notice that his voice is rather monotonous which I remember thinking was funny cos it is an autistic trait....

Simon Baron-Cohen was the pyscologist who diagnosed me. I had a copy of one of his books which he signed for me!! ! To be honest, I did consider asking for his cousin's autograph as well but realised that would have been plain rude and inappropriate. I guess i should have at least asked him what he ...
