Ugh, now that is extremely selfish. There are too many humans on this Earth; people should be able to control themselves instead of having NINETEEN KIDS! And I thought that having 6 children is too many! Two should be the limit. Stupid selfish humans.

Sometimes when someone says something, I'll mimic their tone of voice. It's embarrassing and I don't purposely do it. It's not like mimicking accents; just their tone of voice, like if they raise the end of a word to a higher pitch I'll do that also. Does anyone else unintentionally mimic oth...

Tangerine12 Hi! You have brought the discussion back to where it started with Greengrrl's concerns. It seemed to get hijacked ! And became a very coherent dialogue.....extremely lucid... souls in unison or should that be accord? An interesting side thread ShogunSalute and Blindspot149. :o It would ...

I'd say I had it mild but I can't say I'm naturally shy or introverted. I fit into catagory 'C' too. Is there any particular reason you're asking this Q btw? I'm just asking, because introversion, especially a 'severe' INTJ personality could seem like AS. There's a kid in my class at school who cla...

People with mild Asperger's Syndrome, how are you certain that you have Asperger's and are not just introverted or shy? And how do you fit Criterion C of the DSM-IV-TR if you're mild, especially if you have a job and friends? C.The disturbance causes clinically significant impairment in social, occu...

I've been reading some of the posts about meldowns, and I'm wondering if I've ever had them. My parents told me that I was an easy kid (apart from my sleeping problems) and I never had 'temper tantrums'. But I remember some occasions in my life that I couldn't explain. 1. I used to get so annoyed by...

In my case my fear of blowing it would make my mind clouded so no script would help as I would invariably blow some lines and make myself look foolish - and there is no ability to "wing it" so why bother. But if someone judges you on that, then it is them who is the fool, not you. People who judge ...

Apparently this is quite common for people with 'social problems', especially Aspies. I feel silly admitting it, but I do read from scripts in my head during social interaction. I have scripts for answering the phone, greeting people, approaching people, things to say during small talk, buying thing...

I've read a few theories that autism has something to do with high levels of testosterone in the brain, which maybe could impact on puberty. But then there are those contradicting claims that some people with autism look younger than they are, which means they probably start puberty later than their...

I had a mini-shutdown at school once when I screwed up a music performance. Then to make it even worse for me, my teacher told me to play a scale on the guitar and I temporarily lost all ability to play  . I felt like I was about to burst into tears and I couldn't function properly for the res...

I have both of those 'symptoms' (scary word) that you described. The sky is too bright even through a window to me, and I have a large collection of stock phrases filed in my head. But I do know the feeling, finding out that your behaviours that you thought were unique, are actually part of a 'disor...

Moving my feet around and twisting my body (kinda looks weird in public :P ). I used to grind my teeth a lot when I was younger, because it felt good. I also find that pacing helps me think better, but I'm not sure if that's a stim. I usually notice that I'm stimming about 10 seconds after I've star...

I have no experience with diagnosis, but I do know that you could contact your state's autism association. Here's a website that has phone numbers, addresses, websites, etc.

When I was younger, I had a teacher who was funny, and I used to joke around with her alot. One day she jokingly called me an 'old bag' when I scared her with a fake spider. I took the comment literally, and I was so confused, because I didn't think of myself as something made out of material that p...
